Why are the 3 robed variants of Elpalzi mages not trained in the ways of magic upon Perceive? Is it an oversight or a mechanical necessity or a lore thing?

All magic using creatures are like this. I don't think they're coded with a mana type.

Yeah. Moon Mage perceive probably checks a PC's guild bit (and then does a secondary check for necromancers), which critters wouldn't have. I imagine its even odds that the fields of the creature record are in the hardcode and not scriptable.
