Greetings!

Please read below even if you are already familiar with dispensers from past events. We are tweaking the model of grand prize distribution from last time and want everyone participating to be aware.

You will find [a radiant shamshir dispenser], [a Dream Eater amulet dispenser], [a hiromin tower shield dispenser], [an icesteel wand dispenser], and [a bow and arrow dispenser] in the Droughtman's Maze, Prize Concourse at the Droughtman's Challenge quest grounds. You can SHOP and purchase an origami "ticket" from any dispenser for 5 indicia. The ticket's noun is aligned to the grand prize from that dispenser. You can purchase as many tickets as you wish from all dispensers during the course of the event. Each ticket purchased will increase your odds of winning that dispenser's random draw.

Toward the end of the Droughtman's Challenge event, at 4pm ET on Sunday, March 28th, all dispenser ticket sales will stop. After that, TWO winners will be selected from EACH dispenser and they will BOTH win a copy of the grand prize. Winner 1 and Winner 2 will be selected in the following manner:

Winner 1 will be the player with the highest individual ticket total from that dispenser. Winner 1's tickets will then be removed from the pool.

Winner 2 will be drawn at random from the entire remaining pool of tickets purchased from that dispenser. You do not need to be present or even logged in at the time of this drawing to be selected as Winner 2. The live drawing will occur at approximately 8:30pm (Prime), 8:45pm (Plat), and 9pm (TF) ET on Sunday, March 28th.

If you do not win a grand prize from an individual dispenser, then all of your tickets purchased from that dispenser will instead count toward a memory orb prize which will gain 25% drain per ticket you purchased. This singular memory orb prize is created based on all tickets purchased across all dispensers from this event, excluding any dispenser you win a grand prize from.

Examples:
1 ticket = 25%; 1 use at 25% drain
2 tickets = 50%; 1 use at 50% drain
3 tickets = 75%; 1 use at 75% drain
4 tickets = 100%; 1 use at 100% drain
5 tickets = 125%; 1 use at 100% drain and 1 use 25% drain
14 tickets = 350%; 3 uses at 100% drain and 1 use at 50% drain
52 tickets = 1300%; 13 uses at 100% drain
143 tickets = 3575%; 35 uses at 100% drain and 1 use at 75% drain

The memory orb can be activated to immediately drain field experience into ranks. The orb will always try to drain 100% when activated, and it will not be destroyed until the balance is completely used up. There is a 100-minute cooldown between using 100% drain across any combination of memory orbs. The orb will be unaligned at first, and you can TURN it to a specific skill of your choosing before its first use. After you select the skill for the orb it will remain aligned to that skill and cannot be changed again.

The memory orb prize can be retrieved using the CLAIM MEMORYORB command, which will be set up and available within 24 hours of the grand prize drawings. We will post here again when the updated CLAIM MEMORYORB is available after the event.

You can read the ledger on each dispenser throughout the event to see current ticket totals for that dispenser.

>tap shams
You tap an oddly serrated dawnfire steel shamshir surrounded in a radiant golden aura that you are holding.

>look shams
In a cross between the vicious imprint of a predatory feline bite and the teeth of some massive key, the unusual pattern of serration along the finely-honed blade adds an ominous element to the overall construction of the design. Flashes of brilliant yellow reflect from the metal when light plays across it, dynamically enhancing the coruscating haze that shrouds the weapon.
There appears to be something written on it.

>read shams
A dawnfire steel shamshir reads:
"Droughtman's Golden Key"

>focus shams

However, the reinforced backing and well-secured korograth leather grips fixed to the opposite side reveal the true purpose of this majestic bulwark.

You tap a red-veined marble amulet strung upon a simple chain that you are holding.

>touch amulet
You run your fingers across the slick, slightly-oily feeling surface of your marble amulet, tracing the etchings. A sudden rush of energy overtakes your senses, causing you momentary disorientation as you feel a sharp tug at the corners of your mind. Just as the feeling passes, an oozing darkness spills out of your amulet, coalescing into the form of a tethered Dream Eater.
Roundtime: 7 sec.

Summon
>look dream
The Dream Eater is a creature of nightmare made flesh. Set upon six multi-jointed legs, the entity's thickly muscled body is a flat, uniform black. Its otherwise featureless, semi-humanoid face is split by a lipless maw exposing numerous needle-like teeth. Much like the rest of its body, the head is encased in a web of red-tinged wires so tight as to slice open the flesh beneath, causing a slow, miasmic ooze to trickle out of each of the wounds. A thick metal collar encircles the creature's neck.

>study dream
Knowing the tethered Dream Eater as you do, you're confident you could do the following:
PET
SCRATCH
PULL
HUG
PUSH

>pet dream
As you reach out to pet a tethered Dream Eater, it turns and hisses at you, obviously uninterested.

>scratch dream
You scratch the Dream Eater's skin, easily ripping the flesh and causing a stream of foul miasma to ooze out of the fresh wound. The smoky substance quickly covers your hand, a brief feeling of overwhelming panic entering your mind. As both the fear and the miasma dissipate, you swear you can hear the Dream Eater laughing, though the creature does not even move.

>pull dream
You tug at a handful of wires crisscrossing the tethered Dream Eater's back. The Dream Eater bellows an otherworldly scream, sending a shiver through your spine.

>hug dream
You attempt to hug the tethered Dream Eater and it swats at you with several of its powerful limbs. You wisely decide to abandon the idea altogether.

>push dream
Throwing all caution and good sense to the wind, you attempt to free a tethered Dream Eater from its enchanted prison, pushing and pulling at the red-tinged wires covering its body. No matter your efforts, the odd metal deftly re-sets itself within moments, its magic holding fast. The creature remains eerily still throughout your attempt, fruitless as it may be.

Dismiss
>tap amulet
You tap your amulet three times in rapid succession and a dull black glow envelops its surface. The tethered Dream Eater begins to lash its body about as if trying to break free from its enchanted bonds with every ounce of its strength! The miasmic ooze trickling out from the Dream Eater's wounds is drawn toward your amulet, quickly accelerating in both mass and speed until there is nothing of the nightmarish creature left visible at all. A shrill, otherworldly cry comes from within the marble, but is cut off as the dull glow recedes once more.
Roundtime: 8 sec.

Room Atmos
A tethered Dream Eater's long, snake-like tongue slithers out from between its teeth to caress the wires that cage its face, flicking at them as if to test their continued strength.

A tethered Dream Eater crouches down, its form posed as if to leap at any moment.

Making a noise like the wailing of disembodied souls in torment, the tethered Dream Eater strains against its bonds, once again unsuccessful in breaking through their enchantment.

Tiny tendrils of black smoke ooze out from the wounds covering a tethered Dream Eater's many limbs.

A tethered Dream Eater turns its neck slowly first to one side, then the other, seeming to search for something though its eyeless features appear incapable of such things.

The tethered Dream Eater's body ripples with unnatural fluidity, seeming as though it might change its very shape! The wires encasing its body pulse once with a dull sanguine glow and the creature lets loose a low moan of frustration as its form solidifies fully once more.

Greetings!

You can now use CLAIM MEMORYORB to receive your memory orb prize based on ticket purchases from the Droughtman's Challenge dispensers. As a reminder, only tickets from a dispenser where you did not win a grand prize will count toward your memory orb total.

You are strongly encouraged to use CLAIM MEMORYORB right away and prior to our next MT Event. Although the tracking table for dispenser ticket totals is not wiped between events (it will only reset when you CLAIM MEMORYORB), it is still safest to CLAIM MEMORYORB at the end of any given event.

See you next time!
