Could Order event announcements please go to the atmo window or have a toggle to do so? My screen is not small and they still frequently take up 3-4 lines each, and when there are multiple Orders firing off event announcements repeatedly it's extremely spammy, not to mention very jarring if you're in the middle of a serious scene and a Gnome comes bouncing through the room or whatever.
Please please please please. I will seriously beg for this I am so tired of seeing them all the time.

Please yes. OOC window if it's open. The extra spam in the story window is more likely to discourage me from attending. In the OOC window I might mull it over longer and you wouldn't have to spam it so much as an organization because it wouldn't scroll off immediately like the story window.
Not sure how much latitude organizations have with their messaging but how about just remembering you heard about an event and just recalled it's coming up shortly? It's jarring to see cartwheeling Gnomes gibbering about not wanting to miss an event 4 times while I hunt demonspawn in Maelshyve's Fortress.

I'm not opposed to having the announcements go to a different window if it's open, but I don't think the atmospherics window is a good choice. The atmospherics window is typically used to redirect inconsequential "fluff" messaging that almost no one wants to see (such as atmospheric items). In fact, many of us hide the atmospherics window out of sight so that it serves as a dynamic squelch for repetitive atmospheric messaging. If the messaging is only sent to the atmospherics window, there is effectively no announcement at all for many players (especially if they do not check the calendar). Even as a toggle, the atmospherics window is less than ideal, because anyone who might be interested in the announcements would have to slog through a lot of irrelevant fluff to find them.
The best solution might be a separate announcements window for all global event announcements (be they from GMs, Mentors, or Orders. If the announcements window is closed, the messaging would redirect to the game window by default.
If a separate announcements window is not feasible, I think the OOC window would work, though I personally don't include it as part of my layout. (I get my OOC feed in Genie's Log window.)
If rerouting the messaging proves unworkable, a good compromise would be to add a common string to the beginning of all order announcements. This would allow people to easily squelch the messaging if they want (you can't squelch it now, because the messages are unique) or route it to another window via a trigger.
Orders could also do their part by not sending the announcement more than twice and by trying to write announcement messaging that is less jarring (though it can be hard to come up with messaging that fits for every location players might be).
TL;DNR: I support routing the event messaging to another window, just not the atmospherics window.
