Togball!!
https://elanthipedia.play.net/mediawiki/index.php/A_History_of_TogBall_%28book%29
- A hired NPC Paladin will HALT or even REBUKE rule violators and possibly BANISH someone from the area for particularly bad behavior.
- The participants enter the field which I imagine is specially coded as ballroom dance floors are.
- Players then try to ADVANCE BLOOD ZONE with the Ball, with reaching Grapple range scoring a point. Advancing the BLOOD ZONE takes –far- longer than advancing anyone else in normal combat.
- Players may THROW TO [Player] to throw the ball to that player. If they reach Pole range of the BLOOD ZONE, they may THROW [Blood Zone] to attempt to throw the ball into the goal. Throwing the ball into the goal is normally harder to do when compared to the GRAPPLE tactic.
- Players may ADVANCE [Player] and use most normal combat mechanics to take out players. All players on the field go down as if a challenge was given and accepted. As per Riverhaven Rules, an unconscious player must be DRAGGED away before he/she may be replaced though empaths on the sidelines may begin healing immediately.
- Upon reaching Melee with the BLOOD ZONE, a character is automatically in Melee with the Headsplitter, too. The ball carrier then tries to GRAPPLE BLOOD ZONE. If the grapple takes, a point is scored and everyone goes back to Missile range.
- A player may FACE the Headsplitter to take them on instead of facing the Blood Zone!
PARTICIPANTS JOIN:
JOIN [Red/Blue] AS MAULER
- Maulers may Advance, Retreat, and fight other players
- Maulers/Headsplitters may ADVANCE BLOOD ZONE if they have the Ball. This takes longer than normal Advancing.
- Maulers may THROW TO [Player} or THROW BLOOD ZONE using Heavy Thrown skill. A miss means that other players must ADVANCE on the Ball and the first one to GRAPPLE the Ball gains possession of the Ball. The Ball does not change his/her location.
JOIN [Red/Blue] AS HEADSPLITTER
- Headsplitters cannot ADVANCE on a player. Any player that enters Melee range with the BLOOD ZONE also enters Melee range with the defending Headsplitter.
- An attempt to GRAPPLE the Blood Zone is contested by the Headsplitter’s grappling ability.
- An attempt to THROW BLOOD ZONE is defended by the Skullspitter’s Block and Parry.

JOIN AS BALL
- A missed THROW deals damage to the Ball!
- After a MISS, the Ball may not ADVANCE but may FACE and RETREAT from other players. Further the Ball may DASH to try to retreat from EVERY player. Catch ‘em if you can!!
- The health of the Ball determines what Verbs the Ball may use and their DASH ability!
- Armor worn on the ball slows down players/hinders throws but also reduces damage to the ball on a missed THROW!
- The Ball’s race will determine how easy they are to throw and how fast the players ADVANCE to the BLOOD ZONE. Gnomes give a large bonus, Olvi and Dwarves a small bonus. Kaldar and Gor’Togs inflict a hefty penalty.
- The player will see a “Togball” inventory item but all messaging will use the togball player’s name and the player that joined as the BALL will be able to use Verbs to alter the flow of the game.
- The Ball will have a couple seconds to do something after a player uses the THROW TO PLAYER command. This may help the throw, hinder the throw, and/or make everyone laugh.
-FLAIL, SQUIRM, TICKLE… lots of verbs could be implemented for the Ball to use to do stuff to the game!
Examples:
TICKLE = *Sylvaeus tickles Caraamon, forcing him to drop the Ball! Sylvaeus lands unharmed!*
FLAIL= *Sylvaeus screams and flails in mid flight, making it harder to catch him!*
Thoughts?

I thought togball already existed in game?

Or was that just players playing a version, with no mechanics?

There are several Togball fields with built in mechanics. One in Tiger Clan and one Boar Clan. I have a nagging feeling there might be a third, but I'm drawing a blank. I may have to hand in my Tog Card.

I thought drawing a blank is what Togs do best.

Uzmam! The Chairman will NOT be pleased to know you're trying to build outside of approved zones. I'd hate for you to be charged the taxes needed to have this place re-zoned. Head for the manor if you're feeling creative.

I couldn't find anything in epedia besides the book and when I asked around people.... coincidentally... drew blanks. I was told that the fields exist but not any actually coded minigame. Is what exists to this scale? I'm surprised I didn't hear about it or read anything when I searched.

+1 for togball!

Would love for there to be mechanics in place for players to put together official teams of some sort (perhaps restricted by citizenship? One team for each province?), with scheduled matches.
