The way the Ents took out Isenguard. In the books it is described as the Ents using their fingers and toes, growing out roots and crumbling the stone and rock. As a tree would do in many, many years, only much faster. I REALLY wanted to see that. I thought that would look so neat. But instead they just picked up big rocks and threw them.
I agree about Faramir. He was all wrong in the movie. Atleast he did let them go in the end.
Aragorn and the cliff...<scratch head>
Arwen Blagh! Her name isn't even mentioned in the second book, as far as I remember.
I didn't like the way Thoeden was shown at first. He could hardly talk at all. In the book he was weak and frail and his words did come from Grima, but he spoke the words himself.
Good stuff..
Loved the casting on Grima, exactly how I pictured him.
Ents looked very good.
Gollum was great.
Helm's deep was great.
All in all, a great movie, even if little stuff (and some big stuff) bothered me. Hardly noticed the passing of 3 hours. (But they do need to do an intermission, my bladder is only so big ya know)
And... one last thing.... from my memory, the Two Towers the book refers to, isn't Isenguard and the tower in Mordor is it? Isn't it referring to Minas Tirith and Cirith Ungol? Seem I recall a passage about these two towers standing against each other, or something like that. And I thought that was the meaning of the title. How one group heads to one tower and one group heads to the other.

Whenever I've read the series, I've thought that 'The Two Towers' it refers to in the title varies, based on whether you're reading Book 3 or Book 4. Barad-Dur (Mordor) and Orthanc (Isengard) at some points... Ecthelion (Minas Tirith) and Cirith Ungol (Minas Morgul/Ithil) at others. Of course, that's just my take on it.

May be all wrong but this is what was told to me by a friend who's managed to read the Silmarillion ('nuff said, but he's read Tolkien's letters and such too) but Tolkien didn't want to title the smaller sections of the books and so when he was made to he came up with the Two Towers as a nice vague title seeing as the book centers around four of em...

>It did show the ents destroying stuff. The first Ent that is shown with a rock in his hands, he's ripping it off the wall that surrounds Isengard.<
Yeah, they destroyed stuff, but it was described a little different in the book. Just one of those little things that really conjured up a visual that I thought would look really neat in the movie. They didn't use their brute strength, picking up big rocks and throwing them. Their very hands, feet, fingers and toes actually grew roots and crumbled the rock. But like I said, just one of those little things. I'm sure everyone has had one part (or will in the next movie) that they really wanted to see that was either cut or different.
