Toronto, hm? Counting my humble self and a certain DR veteran in the Mississauga area, that brings to 3 the number of players I know of in the area. Any more of you out there?

Message Re: Kids, Parents, and DR (4315)
I'm a bit of a latecomer to this thread, but it's not just Kids, Parents and DR that are involved in this. Specially for me.
I came across DR, when I was in Grade 10, while researching for a paper on Mythology for my ESL class. For those of you that don't know what the above term means, it is English as a Second Language.
I had just arrived in Toronto from Brasil, and spoke almost no English, being as Portuguese is the main language in Brasil. I was unable to actually play the game at that time, due to my age, and the inability for me to have a credit card.
I found out that Zone.com carried the game with them, and that no credit card was necessary. So I joined the game through there. And since then, 5 years ago, at the age of 15, along with what the original poster mentioned, that being reading and typing skills, but in a different language. Along with that I have developed my ability to actually speak the language and due to different roleplaying positions in game, I have been able to developed a somewhat limited eloquence.
So I say, advertise DR not only as a game, but as an educational program as well.

Currently living outside of the downtown area but Toronto is the closest international airport to me.... smile
And watch those Montreal jokes.... I worked with the Maple laugh <cough> Leaf organization for a while (one of the people who opened the ACC actually - in the exec offices not the guy who put up the traffic barriers the day before construction grins)
So, though having swapped the tower on Bay Street for a floor in a government office, I am still close enough to Toronto to be considered from there. (Meetings in the Parliamentary buildings at Queen's Park still count as Toronto local?)
Attended UofT (biochem) and York U. (english lit/environ) as well if that has any relevance (area universities for those who love acronyms/abbreviations.)
6 or more million of us around here now - had to be at least one other right?
Cheers - Cyllwdd's driver

Bah, we gain one, we lose one :)
And no, although you may indeed be a DR veteran, I was referring to the other veteran player I know of, also in Mississauga :) I guess we'll just count you as a Toronto player in absentia or something.
Cyllwydd, I think attending meetings at Queen's Park has to count as Toronto too <nods>
And players in Montreal count as neighbours and allies - how many Quebec players, do you think? Are you a solitary bastion?
In fact, how many Canadians play? Any ideas?
GM Taenoralhe, counting up Canadians.

I -used- to live about a half hour/40 min drive from Toronto (in KW) but no longer..I'm now down in SC.
I should be coming up sometime next year if all goes well to see family - and of course will have to head to Toronto to visit an old friend so maybe when I know for sure I'll be there we can set something up to go out for dinner or whatnot. I never did meet anyone that I knew was close to me (One was a mere 10 minute drive away but schedules never worked out).

I definitely think if lost and wandering Ontarians in exile in the sticky south should happen to be visiting Toronto again that we should try to get together for a meal or something - post if and when you think you might be visiting, Liebeth, maybe we can scrounge up a group between two provinces <g>
>>usual ontarian rantings<<
Pshaw. I lived in Montreal a thousand years ago, I have family scattered about Quebec, and once upon a time I could manage a line of two of conversation in French. Alas, with no one to speak it to regularly, I have lost it all. Shameful, I admit it.

<takes note and chalks up another one in Toronto>
Okay, four and an honorary one presently languishing in another land.
Wow, enough to make a decent showing around a table at any handy Second Cup. If we requisition the out-of-town Ontarians we are mighty indeed :>
And.......I haven't heard the nickname T dot, so I remain neutral on the subject. Maybe it's an Etobicoke thing <g>
