I'm getting sidetracked here, but does anybody know if Foufounes Electriques is still open? A couple of friends and I are thinking about driving up to Montreal to go to Foufounes (It's been about 5 years since I've been there last).

Foufs are definetly still open, my friend went there last week.
For strip clubs there is the 281 (best known strip club in Montreal for male dancing)
After-hours (2am to 10am) those only sell water and smart drinks other things you might want to take can be found inside or bring your own: Red-Lite (Laval), Stereo (gay village, has one heterosexual side one gay side) known for it's great soundsystem, Aria (right in downtown), Sona (downtown once again). Most after-hours have seen their hip-hop sides closed becaue of shootings involving different underworld gangs.
April... still cold in Canada so forget about terrace.
Bars (alcohol 10-11pm till 3am): So many it'S hard to name them all... what music style you looking into ? What kind of atmosphere ?

last time I was up there 281 was closed or moving. music-dance-we're an older group of gals but we go clubin all the time so old or new dance-(shes not big into trance)-not hip hop-rap --not really intrested in blues or slow mellow clubs. And one other thing--what about concerts or a bon jovi cover band up there??????? The gay club might be fun --is it a strip club and are we allowed on both sides? whats a smart drink?
Not a gay club, it's and after-hour. Smart-drinks are drinks that are highly strong in stimulants (caffeine, ginseng and co. Red Bull is one of them). You can IM me at Corbeau81 so I can tell you more about it. Some things cannot be spoken of on these boards. It's not a strip club, yes your allowed on both sides we don't require people to wear signs around their necks. Mostly techno music in all the after-hours I named. Lots of people clad in very light clothing (most girls in bathing suit tops and skirts, guys with some kind of pants and without shirt 90% of the time) gets mightily hot when that many people are dancing.
Then I would suggest checking different websites for the bars in Montreal there are LOTS of them, alternative music and R&B, Hip-hop being predominant. Couple of nice pubs, some nice pool halls.

Stereo is an after-hour... not the same.
Some of the gay stripping clubs won't allow you in unless your accompanied with a guy.
281 is not a gay stripping club.
