Man found with 1,000 pet rats in a one-bedroom apartment.
If anyone is or knows a rat-lover, and has space for a few new kiddos, please give the local humane society a ring at (707) 778-4396. Any of the 900 left (others were euthanized for illness/injury) will also be put to sleep.
I don't live in San Francisco myself, but I do CS for the newspaper and saw this yesterday online. D:
If anyone can open their heart, please do!

We actually have rats of unusually large size in St. Louis. Biggest ones I've seen are almost two feet long from tip to tip. One of those would be able to turn the tables in the old cat and mouse game.

>Bah, I wish I could, I'd adopt a few but with 7 cats (plus 2 more that visit every so often) I'd be afraid for their furry little lives.
7 cats...900 rats. I'd say that'd be problem solved.
___
I know that I will die in battle, this I have accepted. I hope that it will be one of my own choosing, but if not do not bury me in a small, sad little cemetary. Burn me and spread my ashes to a strong western wind that I might make my way home.

Not if you read the original article, since the guy that they confiscated the 1,000 rats from also had 7 (or was it 9?) cats.
