I'm going to become very clever with scheduling my experiments and convincing my advisor that a bit more reading/writing from home is okay over the next few weeks...

I just hope the GUI is customizable, I can still see the vestiges of the health and mana bars from Oblivion on my TV.

IIRC Elder Scrolls 1 was Daggerfall, which I enjoyed but never finished. I don't remember any of the others except for Morrowind? which I didn't enjoy and didn't finish. I can't say that I'm excited about any Elder Scrolls release.

I'm more of a Blizzard guy, specifically StarCraft and Diablo games.

No. The first one was Arena. Daggerfall was 2nd. Then Morrowind, Oblivion and now Skyrim.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't the first two exclusive mobile games? Then Bethesda bought the rights to the game and made Morrowind?

I came into the picture at Morrowind on the original xbox. My brother and I played ALL the time. The weird thing I thought about Morrowind was the fact that as much as I played that game... I never saw a definitive story line. Oblivion took the game to new heights all together and I cannot WAIT to see what Skyrim does. Besides, with a live action trail like this one... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w1AenlOEXao ...how can you NOT be excited?!

Arena and Daggerfall were both PC games.

Arena was decent if unremarkable. Daggerfall was great. Morrowind was the apex of the series, and there most definitely was a central story once you got a decent ways into it. The expansions likewise had well-crafted, centralized stories.

The expansions I did enjoy a LOT. Especially Bloodmoon, where you could get the ring to turn you into a werewolf.

I also like the fact that Morrowind had a decent amount of cheats, and enjoyed upping my speed to about 200, then creating a max jump spell. Took 2-3 jumps to cross the ENTIRE map.

Loved Morrowind. Lots of stuff in the world, no creature scaling(I like the feeling of being scared when I go into an unknown area.)

Hated Oblivion. World felt empty, I was not afraid to go anywhere because of creature scaling and the creature scaling didn't work because I like to train broadly rather than focus on a few skills. Also they removed my super jump spells and I </3 them for it.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Elder_Scrolls_Travels

Let me quote it since I'm not 100% sure if you even know how to use the interwebs properly.

"The Elder Scrolls Travels are a series of portable games in The Elder Scrolls series of video games published by Bethesda Softworks for Java-enabled cell phones, Nokia's N-Gage. The titles are Dawnstar (2004), Stormhold (2003), Shadowkey (2004), and Oblivion (2009)."

So yes, my thinking that the original ones were mobile was false, but was I completely wrong? Nope.

Good god, the N-Gage. That thing was about as much fun as a jar of pickles.

Really guy? Really?

You were straight up wrong, don't try to act like that.

>>Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't the first two exclusive mobile games? Then Bethesda bought the rights to the game and made Morrowind?

You had an opinion that was incorrect, and you asked a question verifying said opinion, which was then responded to with the correct answer that you were wrong.

I can quote Wikipedia too.

>>The first product – The Elder Scrolls: Arena – was released in 1994 for DOS PC systems.

>>The Elder Scrolls II: Daggerfall was published in 1996.

Wow!
