I've always been kind of curious about this, since I attribute much of my computer knowledge/savvy to having played DR for 10+ years:
I'm fixing up my resume and going through my skills/abilities that aren't otherwise included in the rest of my resume.
If I were to consider myself to be somewhat proficient at writing scripts for Genie3, Wizard, Stormfront (ie being able to utilize the vast majority of the functionality of these programs), would any of those skills translate into a resume-able item? Or would this mostly be considered dabbling?
I'm not that familiar with formal scripting languages, so I'm not entirely sure what sorts of languages have been mashed together to make DR scripts work, but is there anything in there?
Or should I just omit this information and try and get it out in an interview? I'm not specifically applying for any positions that would require a knowledge of these languages, I just want to have a comprehensive list for future reference.
Oh yeah, and does anyone wanna give me a job? :P
Thanks!

From my experience with resume-writing, the best way to do it is to tailor-make each one to that specific job. If the job in question does not care about it, do not put it in your resume.
With that said, on a general level, I absolutely believe there's a place for what we learn while playing DR on a resume. I do not know what the scripting languages are called, or even if they have a particular name, but some of these incredibly detailed scripts (think GenieHunter level) could easily go into a portfolio.
Good luck on the job hunt.

Thanks!
A number of other folks on FB suggested the same thing, only put it in there if they are going to give a damn.
My first inclination is to put everything on there and be a show-off, but that is what the interview is for!
It's been such a long time, I'm rusty at applying for jobs, it's a lot more difficult that it seems!

Good luck in finding a job, I was out of a job for a while. Oddly I started back into this without a job, and it seemed to help me get a job. At least I suggest it did.
