Ok, personally I don't believe in the end of the world on 12/21/12 as I believe in God and that he alone knows the time. However, I also believe God has a sense of humor so...in case he decides to oblige those who feel the world is ending....HAPPY LAST NIGHT OF PLAYING DR!
Oh yeah, on the news...they had THE Mayan expert on tv to explain that 12/21/12 is just the end of a cycle and the calendar begins a new cycle 12/22/12. Also, had a NASA guy say "there are no meteors of any size anywhere near us" or the equivalent. Geez, talk about the news covering all basis.
So enjoy yourselves! I plan to!

Indeed, but it was a Mayan religious belief that this world (the fourth) would end after 12 full cycles (of the longest kind in their Long Count Calender called a b'ak'tun), because the third world ended after 12 b'ak'tun.

Keep in mind leap days/year:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leap_year
Mayans did not have this in their society, if we take all the leap days we have created, by the Mayan Calendar its about July 15th I believe, 2013, and the end of days has come and gone.

Not to be pedantic, but the Mayans didn't predict the end of the world, just the end of their calender.

Every year when I turn my "cats hanging off branches" calendar to december, I know that we're all going to die, as opposed to me buying a new calendar on january first.
