[Obsidian Pass, The Edge of the Forest]
The shadows of the mountains beyond trickles over the descending edge of the foothills. Patches of green reflect the sparse light of stars twinkling far above. You also see a switchbacked trail leading into the mountains.
Obvious paths: north, southeast.

[Dragon's Spine, Mountain Foothills]
The trail becomes spotty as it meanders its way along the rock strewn canyon beside a wide riverbed containing a tiny trickle of water. Sage and juniper cover backsides of steep tan sandstone hogback ridges that angle downward toward Shard. Foliage on the underbrush rustles, dancing to the cold night breeze blowing down off the mountains. You also see a switchbacked trail snaking its way out of the mountains.
Obvious paths: northeast.
