Heyo!

Strange reports have been arriving from the Necropolis on Aesry Surlaenis'a. While details are sketchy, a group of dedicated clerics apparently attempted to drive the undead from the Necropolis forever, and actually seemed to be successful at first. However, something went horribly wrong, and they lost control of their efforts. Perhaps it was the graverobbers that poured on the area after rumors began to circulate that vast hordes of treasure scavenged by the dinego and hhrki'izh were no longer guarded by the fearsome undead. Perhaps it was the supernatural crows and ravens that descended upon the cemetery in alarming numbers, perhaps summoned by the dinego to help them defend what little ground remained to them.

While we may never know the whole truth of what went wrong, the clerics were forced to abandon their crusade, and with the aid of the guardsmen and concerned citizens they desperately managed to seal off the portion of the cemetery they had already reclaimed.

As a result, the cemetery is now divided into two portions. The Dinego still haunt the northern portion, beyond the new inner gate. Graverobbers still prowl the reclaimed portion of the cemetery, especially under the cover of darkness, although a few are brazen enough (or fearful enough of the restless dead) to attempt their crimes during the day. Unnatural ravens and crows harass all who pass through the cemetery day and night.

A disease-ridden graverobber captured by the guards managed to babble something about the Ur Hhrki'izh blocking off portion of the mausoleum, where he claims much stronger hhrki'izh now lurk, waiting to deal with any foolish enough to breach their unholy sanctuary.

Translation:

There have been some significant changes to the Necropolis on Aesry. Here's quick summary:

The Mausoleum

(1) The Mausoleum has been divided into two sections by a new inner door. The first section is inhabited by the same ur hhrki'izh that were always there. The deeper inner section is now inhabited by stronger hhrki'izh, approximately 8-10 levels higher.

(2) The disease inflicted by the hhrki'izh has been reduced in overall potency. It can still be dangerous, but the long-term damage has been significantly reduced.

(3) The hhrki'izh will no longer snatch a player's weapon and curse it.

(4) New atmospheric messaging has been added to the mausoleum.

Note: The hhrki'izh are still extremely dangerous, even with these changes. The goal was to make them more realistically huntable at the skill levels they are designed for, while still maintaining their unique nature.

The Cemetery

(1) Like the mausoleum, the cemetery is now divided into two sections by an inner gate.

(2) The southern section is now inhabited by ghoul ravens and graverobbers. Both are in the level 53-55 range, putting them slightly above Adan'f Warriors. The graverobbers are more numerous at night.

(3) The northern section is now inhabited by wir dinego (same as before) and greater ghoul ravens, both in the same level range as the old dinego. Like always, the dinego are night spawn only, but the ravens will be more common during the day, less so at night as the dinego stir.

(4) The dinego bone throw special attack no longer has an added chance to do damage to armor and shields. It can still damage them, but it now uses the normal combat chances instead of enhanced odds of damage.

(5) Night atmospheric messaging has been added to the cemetery to comliment the already-existing day atmospheric messages.

Note: With this change it will be possible to hunt in the cemetery both during the day and at night, with the latter generally being a bit more dangerous.
