A GM has nicely updated the Barbarian circle ratings in the bestiary. These are the updates. The GM notes there are unaccounted-for discrepancies in things like Mriss bristles vs Rossmans bristles. He expects to know more about creatures with variations in his second phase. The official post is in the GM announcements of the Creatures of Elanthia category.

For now I'm not embellishing on the details like I normally do with these charts, just circle + critter.

Circle Creature
4 Blood Nyad
4 Blood Dryad
6 Cougar
8 Revenant Zombie
12 Bone Wolf
16 Snowbeasts
20 Grave Worm
21 Moss Mey
34 Seordhevor Kartais
38 Death Spirit
61 Misshapen Germish'Din

I think that's everything.

You fogot to add the occasional kelpie that appears on the trade route near the ferry to Crossing, but maybe you consider that a Crossing area creature.

I was counting everything south of the ferry so sorry for the oversight. Kelpie is listed as Barb-circle 3.

And also a recurring bug for appearing there i thought too. At least that what i thought i heard at one time.

At least it's a bug that sort of makes sense. Never could figure out why the Theren Kelpies laired in a TREE (well, mostly they appear on the path leading to the tree, but still, it's not like we're wading a brook to get to them). I mean, aren't Kelpies moreorless animated aquatic plants (ie, seaweed-people)?

J'Lo, no that other one

the kelpies by leth and the ones in lang are different. the ones up north shoot arrows. the ones down south use melee weapons.

Standing on two legs the kelpie is somewhat small, like a dwarf. It looks back at you, a bit agitated.

I don't have anyone around Theren at moment to get description from describe, but don't think they are.

I hope that's a joke. Yes, kelp is a form of seaweed but a kelpie is no more a kelp-person than a hornet is a horn-bug.

Though the description in-game doesn't exactly lend itself to this, for what it's worth:

kelpie: A malevolent water spirit of Scottish legend, usually having the shape of a horse and rejoicing in or causing drownings.

[Probably of Celtic origin; akin to Scottish Gaelic colpach, heifer.]

In this world yes, but not in DR. There are other things taken from rl into the game that aren't even close. I can't remeber off-hand what weapon it is, but in rl is one that is a dagger yet in Dr is a HE or 2HE, I forget which.

Many things vary between the game and real life.

I would also have to point out that myths and legends tend to vary immensely, and often dictionary/encyclopedia entries tend to only touch on the surface of the topic. In truth, folklore and legend vary immensely from region to region, and often village to village. Trying to say "This is what the real-life version was like" rarely really works, because so much variance does and always will exist.

In any event it would be nice to see the bestiary for the leth region expanded sometime in the future. For such a massive area there isn't alot to hunt. It has alot of potential specially in areas like the road to Acenamacra where offshoots from the road would be perfect. A sand sprite populous near the fishing village would be great too can't see why not. Just a thought.

If your really worried about what Kelpies look like go describe one

Strangeguard Prayermaster

You gesture at a sand sprite.
Its head soars through the air as its neck is entirely destroyed!
A sand sprite slowly falls to the ground, moaning in despair, shuddering in pain before taking her last breath.
