>Wow! Kodius never ceases to amaze me! I need to talk to him and see what the deal is on these weapons.
It's not Kodius' fault (the existing weapons were just wrong), but a large number of the weapons on the list are just outright wrong in their portrayal of the weapon, eg. the ngalio which is actually an african throwing knife (is pike/HT in game).
Be kind to us obsessive people and pick ones that match? Pwetty pwease?

<<So far no one's mentioned longbows or composite bows. Are they not worth buying from a store?
The reduced load longbows and composite bows are festival items. You might see some desire for hunter's longbows but most of the Rangers and Thieves on Riss already have theirs, and there are currently no hunter's composite bows I'm aware of. In short no, they're not.
<<I've also been wondering about the new mining system. Are there any tools needed for it that should be stocked in a store so that people don't have to travel to the mainland for them?
The best tools are player-made, but I don't see any harm in having pickaxes and shovels available.

Can't say I've ever hunted out there, but survivalists who might want to self repair [metal] armor would probably benefit from flasks of oil and wire brushes.

Great suggestion! Are there any other day to day type items that would help Rissans? I know we could use things like backpacks and weapon harnesses.

Almost guaranteed to be available when the forge opens out there.

I'm assuming that if anything gets a forge, it'll be Mer'Kresh since that's the "town," right?
Personally, I'm all for basic staples like oil and brushes to be available in other locations. Might become less of an issue when people can craft their own oils and brushes, since they might have more uses or whatever.

Yes, like almost every other forge, M'Riss' forge will be in town. (Mer'Kresh is actually a floating city in theory.)

I'm not against that, per se, but I see no particular reason to make M'Riss particularly Necromancer-friendly. It is supposed to be hard mode.

...I'm not quite sure how a general store (or the inn already there) on M'Riss selling things like oils and brushes = "Necromancer-friendly." It's still fully capable of being a justice area, if you're concerned about that.
As I said, I'm not going to be there anytime soon. I just figured it might be nice to not have to take a ferry somewhere in order to buy a basic staple good for repairing equipment. Especially since repairing equipment doesn't require a forge to begin with. It's something you're allowed to do on the field.
Anyway, it's a very odd remark to make. If you think my suggestion was to have a store selling it on M'riss itself as opposed to Mer'kresh is some kind of "and then it won't be in town so the Necromancers win ha HA!," it's sadly all in your head.

Large, cheap, shoulder worn containers similar to duffel bags, haversacks, etc. are always convenient. Buy 1 silver bag, fill bag with boxes, drop bag off with dry cleaners, pick up profits later.

You're being awful defensive. Perhaps I should clarify. While I realize the idea is that repair tools can be used anywhere, you're talking about it being "convenient" for a store to be on M'Riss. You may want to re-read the discussion that just took place on Rissans and their governance system. It's not supposed to be a particularly friendly place for non-citizens. Like I said, I don't see any reason anyone should go out of their way to make it worse, but it doesn't really need to be better.

Are leaf-head bolts a store bought item?
So far on my list of basic inexpensive day to day items that you always wind up needing at some point and don't want to go all the way to the mainland for are:
Backpacks
Weapon harness
Weapon strap
Shoulder worn container - large
Flasks of oil and wire brushes ???
Pickaxe
Shovel
Anything else people can think of?

I can't think of anything else from stores I'd need, but I did have other thoughts.
First, how close are we to being able to swim from Kresh to Riss?
Secondly, is there a chance we could get a Temple that offers favors on Kresh? Perhaps just to the dark aspects or something? While it's not irritating to traverse the bay by galley to handle routine stuff like selling bundles and undertaking repairs, it is irritating to have to go sit around waiting for caracals to spawn to kill them to skin them to receive favors.

Until there is a Forging Society Building, if you're adding in other mining things then there are deed packets that might be handy (if the mine doesn't auto-deed already).

Slings and Staff Slings as they exist right now are horrible weapons to train, even with a tanned sling and carved ammunition. I'm not sure that Combat 3.0 is going to improve the Sling family of weapons so much that there will be an increase in demand.
