How the heck do I get out of here?

[The Oasis, Sanctuary]
Cool water trickles from a mineral waterfall atop a stony outcrop, while steam issues from behind a translucent wall of rose quartz.
You also see a Sand Elf (prone) and a red-spined cactus.
Obvious paths: none.

I've tried searching, peering, marching, and studying all directions as well as from the bath. I am hoping I missed something simple. Someone help me out please!

Maybe there's a better way, but if you irritate the elf, he'll give you flees and throw you out. I think kicking him will do it.
