This is one of my regular requests for some citizenship perks to Muspar'i. Some suggestions:

- Permanent passport
- Citizen only shops (not Inn's) (Maybe a tattoo shop)

That's all I've got for now. Obviously, a faster barge would be nice but I believe it's been stated that will not happen.

Also.. can we get a word from any GM saying whether the Muspar'i area is currently owned by anyone now that Porlock is gone?

Also, is there anything in line for development? More shops (We could use shields, sheaths, a customizable shop like the one in Rossgallan or in Haven) for either jewelry, local wear (S'kra and Sand Elven gear).

Any information would be great, even if it's that "Nobody loves Muspar'i, stop posting." But with that being said, I'm going to come up with a shop idea or two and post here later today.

Thanks

Muspar'i was gonna get a Grazhir shard. :(

It would be nice to see that + a few high-level hunting grounds for the people currently exiled to M'riss.

Since Muspar'i is so far out, how about a permanent moongate out there similar to the one between Taisgath and Ratha? Only make it citizen-only.

I can't imagine why it would be a secret. It's not like you have to solve a puzzle to get there.

Then again, without travel scripts, most people probably wouldn't know about it.

Well, it was intentionally left off of/left vague on the maps. I believe the request came from a GM, but perhaps it was self-imposed.

Ok, so here is a rough idea of what I had in mind for a customization shop. I think Muspar'i would be a perfect place for this. It would work like the cottage in Rossgallan Keep or the Mirglyn Sisters in Riverhaven. The items I'm suggesting are: gamantang, robes, shroud, tail drape, uaro's'sugi, hac, legwraps, bangles, tailband, ru'at bracelet. Some of the embellishments and styles might be off, I got really tired halfway through.

Gamantang - Robes - Shroud

As far as inclusions go, I don't know if this is something that just happens naturally or if the effect can be created artifically. But if it cannot, replace inclusion for the gem shape.

Also, I had plenty more ideas especially on materials, colors, and stones or styles for all of these but it was just too much work to post. I just wanted to give a rough idea of what I would like to see. On that note, these are random options, not style preference.

Feedback welcome!

what i'd like would be if you can get a generic item, and have them "changed" by the shop, that way you don't actually have to "purchase" the initial item to get the "look" you want.

Much like you can get a sword hilted <on aesry?>, and dyed <knife clan>.

Oh man, a shop like that would rock my world. There's just not enough robes and gamantangs around. Practically all S'Kra seem to end up wearing the same six or seven things. Plus, robes. Robes!

Please oh please. That's awesome. It must have taken a while to put together, and I appreciate the work that must have gone into it.

Terra, that shop idea is tops! I think that is an awesome suggestion. Likewise I would make somewhat the same suggestion as far as shields go.

The idea here would be that it would operate like the shield shop in P5, where you have a selection of 5-8 shields in the first room of the shop. IE:

> on the shield rack you see a iron-rimmed palmwood oval shield, a crescent-cut tower shield, a small sand-worn targe, a thick buckler covered in sun-bleached hide, and a heavy palmwood targe.

> on the display wall you see a sun-shaped oval shield, a broad kite shield studded with steel, and an ironwood buckler edged in flame-kissed gold

After selecting a shield of your choice you could have it embellished. The style of accent would be branding. You would choose from a list, and the merchant would be able to apply the brand to any leather or wood items.

> You tap a iron-rimmed palmwood oval shield branded with a desert sun.
> Burned into the surface of the wood, you see the image of a fiery sun rising above sandy dunes.

Its too early for more detail.

Basilisc/Tiesse,

Thank you again for everything you all do. I have already seen an influx of residents and action in Muspar'i due to some of the changes you all have put in. When I was training for 100th circle I spent a couple of weeks at a time in Muspar'i. Sometimes, the only person I would come across was Alexii.

Now, I see different and new faces here almost every day. It's amazing. I love it. This has always been my favorite area, I've been a faithful citizen and defender for as long as I've played this character.

Would you all be willing to consider some citizenship perks? Currently, being a citizen of the Velaka is the only one that does not offer any perks (to my knowledge). Please?

- An additional barge, powered by more yeehar that goes to and from faster than the other barges.
- A custom tattoo shop with city emblems, house crests, other ideas (if it comes to that)
- Citizen only areas
- Permanent passport (I think this was shot down because it is gained through Therengia?)
- Citizen only hunting area, maybe a citizen only library with a greater array of books? Something maybe as large as the Imperial Library (since Muspar'i is a city of scholars)

Thank you for your consideration. A response, no matter the answer, would be greatly appreciated.

Muspari is neutral. Perhaps citizens in good standing with no warrents any place should have diplomatic immunity and a pass with regard to such things as barricades blocking off Shard from trade. Or maybe just trader citizens of Muspari in good standing. I have none, but I was just thinking of what might make sense for a neutral trade city to have as a perk. Certainly some sort of exeption from the passport hassel would be really nice for everone. A faster barge or even a sort of 'marina' with rental sand barges that are faster and only available to citizens would work. More books or a special citizen only area in the library would also make lots of sense given the city history.

In addition, I've always thought that since Theren does collect fees and taxes for Muspari that the citizens of Muspari should enjoy the same perk as Therengians do on the barge and ferry. I don't think the draw bridge to the keep should lower to them, but I would think that the public transportation would be a perk. I am primarily again thinking in terms of a trade city and what sort of accomodations I would expect to have been worked out to facilitate trade, most of which has to pass through Theren and over those ferries and barges.

I do want to get some citizenship perks out there, without a doubt. The first citizenship perk will actually be coming along soon. It's a trivial perk, I have to admit, and certainly not enough to get people rushing to join the province, but if nothing else it will give you all solid proof that citizenship in Velaka will have some purpose down the line.

What needs to be kept in mind though is that citizenship perks are, as named, perks. They're supposed to be neat little fringe benefits that make the locals happy. What we're focusing on right now is acquiring the locals to make happy, as you've seen from the new hunting and housing. There will very assuredly be more of that to follow. Once we're content that people are coming to Velaka to stay, not just to see the shiny new stuff, we'll be focusing more on the citizenship perks.

That said, I have no problem discussing the possible perks.

There won't be an additional barge for Citizens, sorry. You're going to have to make do with the one that everyone rides, or take your complaints up with the Sand Elves.

Citizen shops are a reasonable request, so I'll keep that in mind. I won't even start to speculate at what will be in those shops, but I'm sure that one (or more) will exist eventually. The same goes for citizen areas, though for that I do have an idea in mind...

The perma-passport thing sounds kind of neat. I haven't been involved in any conversations about it, so I won't attempt to promise to make it (since someone else may have already decided, with good reason, to not do it) but I can say I'll look into the idea.

I'm not nuts about citizen-only hunting or a citizen-only library, since that would probably actually discourage visitors. We want to give everyone a reason to come to Velaka, not just the people who already live there.

As far as any perks that don't directly apply to Velaka, I'm going to give a tentative "no." The purpose of citizenship perks is to encourage folks to come and stay, not come and join, then go use their perks elsewhere.

Wow Basilisc, thank you so much for that in depth response. I suppose I shouldn't have compared what we (don't yet) have against what others do. I know that they are perks, and I know I will be very pleased with anything that comes our way.

You know, I hadn't thought about it from many different perspectives but now that you pointed a couple things out about the citizen only barge or the Theren fares and the hunting areas. Your responses all make sense and are very logical. So, I appreciate that perspective. A lot.

For a citizen shop, I'd love to see a custom shop like Rossgallan Keep has or like the Jewelry store in Haven. But this custom shop would be items that make sense for the area. In the next few weeks, I'll draft something up and post it or e-mail it to you (or both) so maybe if you like it, you could store it later for when the idea of a citizen shops even gets near the priority list (not on there now, for the obvious reasons you stated).

On another note though...
>>The first citizenship perk will actually be coming along soon

Any way you might be able to elaborate?

Whatever it is, even if it's just another story told by the storyteller, I'll love it I'm sure. Yourself and Tiesse have yet to disappoint.

Okay, getting access to additional home sites for Forf makes absolutely no sense since only Premie's can have homes. Sorry, but I question the accuracy of Elanthipedia on that one. Why would something only premie's can use be a citizen perk? However, I've stopped begging for a citizenship perk for the area and this is the Muspar'i folder, so moving on now.

Anyhoo, was Veleka's taxes tied to Therengia for mechanical simplicity? Does that still need to be the case? It just feels the place is sufficiently removed enough to have their own tax system. Veleka doesn't count as Therengian territory, right? Just colloquially we count them the same?

You do realize that before you two came along and started showing interest that Muspar'i hadn't seen any kind of attention in like...ever? And now we have new shops/services, multiple housing, events and interaction from Musparan figureheads, people showing up, a nice water source, more citizens, more recall/perceive histories and much much more?

Mechanically it might not be possible, but I think a neat citizen perk would be a reduction in the exchange fees when changing money from foreign denominations to the local one. Fees for changing local to foreign would remain the same. The justification being that presumably if you're changing all your kronar to lirum in Musparii you're either 1) going to deposit it in the local bank or 2) blow it on fancy perfume at the local store. I think this would be a neat perk for every province really.

Being a trade city I think it would be awesome if you could shop in (almost) every store in whatever coin you chose. You'd pay a small convenience fee, but if you're really to lazy to find the bank you can buy the desert shroud with dokoras if you want to.

I want to start off by saying I am extremely pleased with all of the development Muspar'i has seen over the last two years (or has it been less?). I was wondering if the area owners would take into consideration a citizenship perk:

Lower the exchange rate at the bank for citizens.

It's very possible I'm doing the math wrong, but even with conversion rates, shouldn't I have come out on top by a little? I think I would have anywhere else and I'd appreciate it if you take it into consideration as a citizenship perk.

11 silver, 7 bronze, and 4 copper Dokoras (1174 copper Dokoras).
>exchange all dok to lir
You hand your money to the money-changer. After collecting an exorbitant fee, he hands you 1 gold, 1 silver, 7 bronze, and 1 copper Lirums.

Thanks for looking at the idea!
