Alright, I give up, I've been wandering around this place for an hour looking for a way out, and I cannot find the reeds for the live of me. I'm now trying to just go in a single direction, but the leeches are slowing me down a bit, so if someone could give me a little hint on perhaps which way I should head, I'd appreciate it. I've been out of the loop for some years, and I always thought it was head east until you hit a repeating room, but I have only found more leeches! Thank ahead of time. Oh, and I know this has probably been asked before, but I couldn't find it in this thread(I cannot find the search function either).

SEARCHING while in the reeds will give you a general direction to go in. If you find you start getting the same set of directions over and over again (like telling you to go ne and the sw a bunch of times) head south a few times and try again. Usually thats always eventually led me to the way out. Of course if theres some slick secret to not having to do that,I dont know it. Perhaps someone else knows a better way? But this method has always worked for me,long as the leeches dont get too bad.

run around like a maniac typing 'go reed' or 'go road' or whatever the command is to get back on the road always worked for me.

There are 2 ways for the non-ranger to feel proactive in trying to find the reeds (that I know of).

1. Always head East. There is one room that is a loop, and if you get on that, just go north then keep heading east. You'll find the reeds fairly quick (usually).
2. 5 paces north from the shack.

Then, go reed and you're on the road again...
