Hi guys,
I remember hiring boats a loooong time ago around Haven/Lang. Can we still do it?

If you've paid for the boat's services, try Ask Pilot for Help and Command Pilot: That should give you a list of what you can and can't do. Also, Ask Pilot About Title.

Ask "pilot" about command I think it is. Costs a gold kronar I believe.

This is new to me, so sorry if this has been asked.
So basically you hire a boat in Haven - and it takes you the port you wanna go to?
It only costs 1 gold?
Does it stay in the port you disembark at until someone else hires it? or a timer? or the minute you get off the boat does it just leave?
Is Haven the only place you can start your voyage?
Is it faster than public transport?
Charter services need to be at all the docks.

Renting a boat costs 5 gold, and you are captain of the boat for an hour. It stays wherever you leave it, and after an hour, you can no longer command it and it is opened up for hiring.
You can start from Haven, Lang, or Rossman. It's a lot faster than the barge.
There are ~6 boats, and there's no way to call a boat to the dock you're at if there are none. It's been asked for.

Unless they have changed, the pilots can sail the boats to Riverhaven or Langenfirth. You can only get to Rossmans by manually piloting the boat. The boats are restricted to the lake, of course, and cannot sail to the islands or any such.

Find boats in Riverhaven, Lang and Rossman. May or may not be there, alomst always one in RH. Most boats, go aft and you will find the captain. ASK <captain> about boat. Will tell you to ask again and then you have rented it for a RL hour(plus you can temporary get the title captain). And yes, now only 1 gold. You can set sail for Riverhaven, Langenfirth and Rossman's.
