Pretty sure they are supposed to drop as non-gems (metal) for crafting systems.

bars and nuggets are for crafting utilization. anything else metal <non-gem> that drops is useless, and still part of the old treasure system. <i.e. critter dropped thread can't be used in outfitting either>

Which is great, except it hoses me for the value of a kill, and kills 'take longer' in 3.0.

The random metal drops are GREAT for doing forging work orders. If that's not your thing, you might be able to make a "junk metal bag" and sell it to a forger or a trader at more than what the gem shop would give you.

I just toned down the metal drops, let me know if that improves things.

Don't turn down, just make special metals more common in the drops! ;-)

Could we have pouches that work like gem pouches for the metals? Perhaps instead of calling it "gem pouch" you could name it "metals pouch"?

I don't mind the metals, but since I carry close to 450 items on me,metals are gonna be a pain in the butt, without a gem pouch-like pouch.

I think the problem is all the other stuff you carry.

....why? Tie gem pouches, tie full bundles, etc. Even if you're carrying herbs, you can combine those, or just get rid of 90% of them. I'm not trying to be mean, I'm honestly curious what a non-MM finds to carry 400+ items on a constant basis.

We're having this discussion again? I have a 200 skin untied bundle, because it's the only way to train appraisal, and 32 deeds, each of which is 2 items. Add in weapons, armor and various other incidentals, and I'm at high 300s. If I were also carrying any of my crafting tools, I'd easily break 400.
