Someone told me that you actually learn what you teach.

Example: Empath teaches firstaid.. she learns firstaid and teaching, I learn firstaid and scholarship.

Is this correct? I've never noticed this happening.

Yes you do actually learn teaching and whatever you're teaching but the amount of the taught skill isn't that great although this may be based on your skill or level. It may be noticable if you have high teaching and are teaching a skill in which you have few ranks.

I have, on at least one occasion, learned an entire rank of evasion from teaching evasion classes, with over 50 ranks of evasion at the time. I suspect that Charisma has some part to play in the experience gained by the teacher.

think of it this way, your students are giving feedback, and your reanalyzing what you know based on that feedback so you learn something from it
