I know it's a hider. I've got one and I'm not sure how many charges are left, or even how to check that sort of thing. Are they rechargable?

Also, you can check how many charges are left by using FOCUS if you're a magic-user. If not, at one point you will try to TURN it and it won't work. That means it's out of charges.
Note that it will burn a charge to remove the item and focus on it, because you'll have to turn it again when you put it back on.
