So I departed somewhere between the gondola and Shard, but have no idea where I am. I'm at an altar with a tapestry and stairs. It seems the tapestry is the way out, but I can't figure it out. The stairs lead to three rooms with nothing in them that I notice. Anyone have any advice please?

You're actually quite close to where you died, unfortunately it doesn't appear to be mapped on E-pedia.

I always get those two depart areas confused for some reason.

I think you have to look behind a tapestry, or under a staircase or something. I think I was there once, and it's one reason why I spend as little time as possible in Shard. Replacing favors wasn't as easy as other places, and departing to strange places...? Ugh.

Looking at the tapestry shows that there's a breeze causing it to move slightly in its description. Looking behind the tapestry then reveals the arch. Neither step is required to make use of the arch.
