Something seems to be wonky with pounding. I'm not getting any RT, but it is apparently capturing the action:

>pound ingot on anvil with my hammer
You realize the skirmisher's shield will not require as much metal as you have, and so you split the ingot and leave the portion you won't be using on the ground.

This changed the ingot to shield, but no rt.

[Forging Society, Forge]
A low ceiling and thicker walls seem to muffle outside noises here. An iron anvil with a thick horn sits across from a slack tub filled with water. A pile of fuel rests atop a leather tarp in the corner. You also see a steel ingot, a glowing forge, a grindstone and a large waste bucket.
Obvious exits: west.
>POUND SHIELD ON ANV WITH HAMM
>POUND SHIELD ON ANV WITH HAMM
>POUND SHIELD ON ANV WITH HAMM
>POUND SHIELD ON ANV WITH HAMM

>pound shield on anv with my hamm
You need another finished metal shield handle to continue crafting an unfinished steel skirmisher's shield. You believe you can assemble the two ingredients together once you acquire them.

[Ingredients can be added by using ASSEMBLE Ingredient1 WITH Ingredient2]

Afterwards, i added the handle and the cord, and got this:

R>pound shield on anv with hamm
You cannot figure out how to do that. Perhaps finding suitable ingredients and studying some instructions would help.

I'd study, pound once, and get this message again.

Can you try forging something other than a shield? Perhaps some of the new Chain armor in chapter 4? When I released the first of the chain armor last night I may have broken something :/

Mail seems to be working fine:

>pound ingot on anvil with my hammer
You realize the ring mask will not require as much metal as you have, and so you split the ingot and leave the portion you won't be using on the ground.

Sparks fly into the air as you transfer the metal back and forth between the forge fires and the anvil, alternating heating with vigorous hammering of the metal. The work proceeds as planned and you avoid introducing any defects.

As you finish working the fire dims and produces less heat from the stifled coals.
