So is this even a ability that is being planned for the barbs anymore? I mean its now over 3 years old. Has there even been a recent rumor that barbs are going to be getting abilities based on meditations?

Probably not until we get a Dev GM -- I'm hopeful though since Ssra slipped about a possible Barb Team. I pray there is one in the works hiding somewhere.
Otherwise I'm ready to just give up and apply so I can code this stuff then get back to training :p

Messenger Boy: The Thessalonian you're fighting, he's the biggest man I've ever seen. I wouldn't want to fight him.
Achilles: That is why no one will remember your name.

>>Heh if there are any they are probably all hiding not will to show themselves for fear that we will lock them in a room with a PC for coding and no way out.
We'll give them one meal for each Barbarian related ability or item they release.
Auroch clamps his fist around your forearm and hauls you over for a merciless Barbarian greeting. Stifling a grimace, you wonder if you'll ever wield a weapon again.

Meditations are a barbarian ability that we are interested in expanding.
They are, however, in the very early stage, and so ideas and input about them would be great at this time.
I have a list of suggested effects from prior posts, but a lot of things have changed since many of those posts (combat sequences and balance, berserks, and even roars), so some new posts about what effects would help now would be very good.
With that in mind, and this is not set in stone, but I think that meditations will be targeted at more of a support niche rather than having direct combat effects like roars, dances, and berserks. I've no problem with suggestions for more direct benefits, but do want you to know what the current thoughts on how meditations would fit in is.

Meditations? pre combat? post combat? I have a suggestion.
One which would allow us to raise vitality and/or fatigue to 100% (for a short duration if bleeding); be this raising of said aspects to health for post berserk recovery, post death recovery, or gushing wounds.

Meditation that allows us to unleash our full rage - berserk boosts, meditation to focus ourselves - dance boosts, perhaps unique effects from each berserk/dance. So like say we use the focus meditation with eagle dance, perception boost is greater or like...we use all of our perception ranks as passive perception when it comes to stealth checks.
Have the meditation allow us to reach a higher level of ability that is perhaps unreachable without the meditation.
Have meditations run off of concentration and not a pool we're already using for our abilities.
Perhaps have the focus meditation help with forging better blades.
Meditation like stone/steel skin which would affect our entire body so brawling with that meditation would be as good or better than brawling with one of the new brawling weapons, like the knives strapped to arms and stuff. As a part of that, our skin would be like good leather armor all over. If possible to get away with, chain would be nice but I don't see that happening but ask for the stars and say whatever the highest armor is I guess.

I'm gonna take this chance to nudge up an idea for a meditation I had a while back, in case it didn't make your list, Iayn.
I would like to see an out-of-combat meditation that would allow us to either A) slow bleeders, B) give a bonus to herbal healing effects or C) both. It makes sense from my perspective, as a meditation is the focusing of mind, body and spirit on some goal, and it should be possible to focus these things on aiding the healing process.

A small list of ideas I think would make for great meditations.
All names are subjective and subject to change if anyone out there in GM-land likes the ideas.
1. Insert Name Here - meditation to forcably raise the rate at which we regain IF passively. Must be sitting entire time. Unable to perform other actions. Basically used if you wanna regain fire faster without sitting in combat.
2. Iron Will/Skin - meditation to help increase thickness of skin so hits you take are reduced slightly. See this as one being done before goin into combat to train multi where you know you are gonna take hits.
3. Quiet Rage - meditation to focus your vocal cords for one incredibly strong roar.
4. Insert name here - meditation to cauterize wounds, id imagin you'd have to be in some kinda deep meditative trance before you could take a hot sword to a stumpy arm or leg.
5. Force of Will - Increase battle dance time
6. Force of strength - increased abilities to certain dances. Eample: a meditation done before battle, dependent on the dance it provides added benefits. So if you do this meditation then dance eagle, you maybe get a bonus to BMR or perhaps 100% perc check on passive observing of hiders or anything else. Maybe if you dance badger you'd become untargettable and have blinding speed or something. I dunno im just rambling right now.
