So, I foraged branches and lit a fire but when I tried to meditate it said i had to meditate on a flame. I distinctly remember doing this before just this way. So, either something changed or I am missing something. It has been a while.

You can't meditate currently on fires. Try foraging a branch, lighting it on fire, and then meditate branch.

>>Thanks. Odd you can't medicate on a fire
Heh. I'm sure there are some balms or salves for that. See your local alchemist. (Sorry couldn't resist!)

Out of curiosity...I went and did some testing. Maybe something has changed since I tried it after fires were first released...
from inside your flour sack.
>light branch with flint
All of your students have left, so you stop teaching.
>
You strike a piece of black flint against a butcher knife, causing a shower of sparks over the branch which smolders, then bursts into flames.
Roundtime: 8 seconds.
>
shea
You sheathe the butcher knife in your flour sack.
>forage branch
Mindlessly you begin to forage the area before you.
You manage to find a branch.
Roundtime: 4 sec.
>put branch on branch
You put a branch on a burning branch creating a small fire.
>put flint in sack
You put your flint in your flour sack.
>sit
You sit down.
>med flame
You must meditate upon a flame!
>
The branch smolders in the small fire.
>med fire
>
Flames waver off of the small fire on the ground.
>
You begin to meditate upon the fire, your inner fire swelling as you center your mind, body, and spirit.
>
Slowly, as you grow calm and balanced, a bright white flame begins to waver in your vision.
>
The branch in the fire bursts into flames.
>
Deeper into the flame you go, your mind racing forward until you finally reach its essence.
>
Surrounding your reflection is a brilliant aura of pristine quality burning outward at twice your height.
You feel a jolt as your vision snaps shut.
>
The fire on the ground sputters as it burns.
So, you can meditate on fires, or on individual burning things, or on chakrel, or you can meditate flame in the flame room of the crossing guild.

The day I posted, all I got was this message:
You must meditate upon a flame!
I lit a fire and tried to meditate on the flame and tried to meditate on the fire. I also tried just getting one branch lit by putting it on the fire then, holding it and meditating on that flame.
Last time I had played my barbarian, I was able to meditate on the fire I had just built. So I am guessed something changed.
Today I tried again, however, it worked.
Either something was buggy the first time or the fact that I did not build a full fire was the difference. This time i lit one branch and left it on the ground and meditated.
Apparently you can't have more than one branch lit now?
