in that case... what would be some decent LC armors to look for?

Get a forged LC Hauberk/Gloves. And wear maybe a balaclava from shard. I had no hinderance with that set up at like 40/45 ranks in LC. It was really nice.

Check Ciressa's tables in the trader market in haven. She carries Redarch forged stuff, which is fairly reasonably priced and more or less the same stats as the stuff sold in Crossing.

Starting out if you are low on money, get the silver gilt hauberk from Theren, the HC visored chain helm from Riverhaven, and a pair of forge HC gloves. should add up to about a plat.
