Is there any chance we'll ever be able to recover IF from killing critters that don't teach us weapons? It seems silly to me that I need to go to lesser weapons while fighting in the war to get longer dances and shorter revovery times. If killing is going to give us an IF boost, I think it shouldn't matter what weapon you do it with. Isn't it about the blood bath we're creating and not the experience we're gaining when it comes to the things that make up inner fire?

I honestly don't see an IC reason why IF recovery should depend on learning. It seems more like the reasons behind the current mechanics are OOC with no real tie ins to IC logic.

Someone fill me in on this new IF thing, or at least new to me. How do we recover it from hunting? and is there anything else that's been updated to it?

Celestica moves a stone mortar labeled "NotCelestiaa" to his right hand.

You tap a hollow ram's horn labeled "NotCelestica" that you are wearing.

When you kill something with a weapon that isn't beyond the critters teaching range you recover a small amount of IF. It's been like this for quite some time now.

I thought that whatever you killed had to move your primary weapon, not whatever weapon you were currently using. Thus killing goblins with 10 ranks of staff sling wouldn't do anything if you had 100 ranks of heavy edged.

Incorrect. It has to train whatever weapon you are working. This was confirmed by Skori a few weeks ago on a thread.

If it wasn't so there is no way I could dance panther and then a couple other lesser dances when working some lower weapons which I have been able to.

I don't see an IC reasoning for it either, but that is the way it is currently. Your going to need to get the final killing blow on the creature and have it teach you in a weapon to regain a bit of inner fire. Would be awesome to see it change toward not mattering what weapon you were using to regain your IF.

<<I don't know about that. I think the way it is, is that you get inner fire if you manage to get the killing strike against a creature that teaches you in a weapon. The amount of inner fire you get from killing one leucro with your 22nd weapon is the same as the amount of inner fire you get from killing a zombie with your primary weapon.

The above would be essentially correct.
