Heyo!

The moment we all have dreaded is here. A potentially critical bug in DEMA reared its ugly head this morning, and since I had to go in and fix it anyway, I went ahead and bit the bullet and put in the long-promised (and much feared) changes.

(1) The balance shifts (both positive and negative) have been brought under pre-existing caps established for pulsing balance shifts. They will still shift just as before, but the maximum size of the shift each pulse has been substantially reduced.

(2) The evasion bonus to those in the Bard's group has been reduced slightly. Naming of Tears is now unquestionably better at directly boosting evasion.

(3) The evasion penalty for those outside the Bard's group has been reduced as well.

The minimum shifts and skill bonuses/penalties have not changed. As a result, you should notice very little impact from these changes at the lower mana levels.

The biggest change, and the biggest problem, was the degree of balance shifting. Let's assume (made-up numbers) for a moment that balance is on a scale of 0 to 10, with 5 being solidly balanced. DEMA could potentially give a bonus or penalty of 15 points per pulse. Oi. That's not exactly how it works, but that is a pretty accurate representation of what the situation was previously. Currently (using this example), the shift would be more along the lines of 1-3 points per pulse. As long as you are reasonably balanced, it will keep bumping you up quite nicely, but it's not going to bring you back from extremely imbalanced to incredibly balanced in a single pulse anymore.

This change will be live in Prime and Platinum within 15 minutes of this post (8:30pm est). TF will follow in a day or two if nothing breaks.
