ReplyI came back after a respite, look in horror at these req's on Olwydd's site and then find out that my 3rd highest lore, percussion, is now a tert... Is this correct??
And if so, Can someone please explain the reason why percussions, an extremely important class of musical instruments in the history of DR and in the Real world are now a tertiary musical instrument?
I'm not sure what you mean by percussion being tert?
If it's your 3rd highest lore, it'd fall under the 'secondary' category at worst (and that's only if you refer to the 3 tiers of lore requirements as primary, secondary and tert).
However, any of the lores can fulfill any of the lore requirements, the only caveat being that all music lores have to meet a minimum. So if you want percussion to be your first lore, you simply have to train it above all the others.
I'm not sure if Olwydd has the reqs that were actually adopted or one of the older proposals... I'm not home where I can check, so someone more familiar with the site will have to comment on that.

They aren't classed as tertiary, the calcs just refer to third lore and tertiary lore. They are synonymous in the way Olwydd uses the word tertiary. Primary, secondardy, tertiary. It just means that percussion is your third highest lore.

I never use circle calculators, so I didn't know this myself :)

What Tashya and the others said is correct. Using Percussions as your primary instrument is still perfectly acceptable.
