Nifty. Here's an example of its use:

>recall area
You pause for a moment to gather in your surroundings, trying to recall everything you know of the area.

You seem to recall something noteworthy about the area west of here.

You seem to recall something noteworthy about the area west, south, out of here.

Roundtime: 8 sec.

It seems I have a maximum distance of 5 steps. Is everyone else getting the same thing?

It's very cool. The messaging is slightly different when it senses a perceive history in an area.

I did not add any recalls at this time.

Once I finish the other updates to recall I'll look at getting some of the contest recalls into the game.

Also - I forgot to say this in the announcement post, but you owe some serious thanks to Zeyurn for this release since a large part of it is stolen Hunt code and to Grejuva for an amazingly fast QC.

All verbs with the 'area' modifier need to have a way to kill someone, IMO.

It's a boar. It doesn't like you.

You should have been lazy and stolen the experience calculations from there, too.

The learning should be roughly on par with Hunt (For a number of reasons it can't be the same) -- and if anything I was on the generous side.

If you find it's not teaching you, please let me know with logs as that's something I'd need to investigate.

Note - you do need to find something to learn, just like hunt.

It is teaching me, just a pittance. One recall area gives me about 0.63% of a rank. Maybe this is how well hunting teaches too, and it's just the difference in skillset that makes it seem like it's teaching less.

Can you get me a log of:

Your mentals, your skill, your exp before and your exp after and what you're recalling?

If you're not comfortable posting that here - you can email it to me.

Thanks!

For a point of comparison, I just tested perception gain off a single hunt, and I gained about the same amount. So I guess it's just the primary/tertiary business that makes it feel like I'm earning so much less. (Since I can pull in perception exp faster than I drain, but scholarship exp drains faster than I earn it.)

Yeah. It's likely the primary drain rate that's throwing you off. That looks about right for learning.

No wait! I meant to say that hunt was giving me ten times as much exp. You should probably up the recall learning tons just to be safe.

Seriously, though, thanks for taking a look.
