Groups are identical in difficulty, according to my findings. If anyone can tease out the groups better than I could, please let me know! I found that many old instrument difficulties had changed or were different than I expected.

One string instrument I don't see on the list is the pyi-pya. I don't know if these are sold at any static stores but they were offered at either a fest or merchant a long time ago. They belong either in the fiddle/lute etc. category or between that and the violin/cittern category. I definitely know they're easier than the violin/cittern. I'll see if I can track down a lute and compare the two.
