It is with mixed feelings that I say goodbye to the guild I knew so well. I am quitting DR effective immediatly. While I am leaving for that particular MMO that shall remain nameless which so many others have departed for this departure was long overdue anyway. I am leaving dragonrealms for the following reasons, none of which I forsee as being rectified..well ever.

1. As much as I have enjoyed the freedom of imagination that a text game promotes and I am well aware of the fact that a text games graphics can never become outdated and I can play DR anywhere... I must admit at heart I am a visual creature. One thing my flirting with graphical games has taught me is that no text, no matter how well written can compete with the sheer visceral terror that actually seeing an overwhelming foe in a situation most dire generates.

2. My time has become extremely limited as an unfortunate yet expected by-product of law school. I am fed up with putting 4 hours of my precious time into DR and getting little to no satisfaction. I dont want to gain 4% after a long days work of playing DR, and indeed it has become work. I want instant gratification, the ding of gaining a rank has become to far between, and aside from gaining ranks there is little else to do in DR (no quest system, no PvP or conflict system)

3. Simutronics is just to ridicously money hungry. This was a big one for me. Please show me another MMORPG that has an "elite" version of their game that doubles the price...and a special "uber elite" server for the exteremly wealthy. This in addition to paying for quest and FESTIVALS just vexes me to no end. The basic subscribtion plus of the next gen MMO's is equal to the price that Simu has been charging for quite a few months now and unlike Simu that basic subscription has way more then 1 character slot. And theres no such thing as "premium service" or paying for additional quest content.

4. Way way to slow development. Honestly I dont care what the reason was as a monthly customer, that monthly fee is sopposed to go towards constant updates and upgrades of the game I'm paying for, yet things are ridicusouly stagnated. I'm not just talking about the cleric's guild but about DR in general. Things that other MMO's were released with and others take for granted DR still does not have after being out for 10 years, dual-wielding, a summonable creature attack system, etc. etc.

So with that, I bid you all farewell. I did enjoy my time here and I hope the guild continues to prosper. Dragonrealms is still an excellent game for anyone with a great deal of free time and money, I'm just not one of them.

Cadderrly my friend good luck getting HT to replace your primary weapon :P

And to my many other friends (you know who you are) fare thee well...as they say.

I really hate to see you leave again buddy. I understand the frustration, I really do. The current GM's we have for the guild have done a great job fixing so much stuff for us. They just have so much work to catch up on. I really don't fault them for not gettin the spells out and such. All they can do it is write them and submit then and submit preposals. The problem is QC and bug fixes and re-evaluations just take to long. DR probably could use a couple more full time employees to handle this type of thing and the long term effect on DR as a whole would be great. I was really glad to see you when you came back my friend, I just hate to see you leave but I don't blame you for going.

I found a few things I enjoyed training, one of them is HT for me it is an enjoyable weapon. watching it grow with ranks is one of the main things that keeps me around. Another is the sense of community we have up here where i stay at with my fellow clerics. I wish the best buddy, but I would like to see you come back sometime and try it again for a while. Maybe burn out on the gryphics games and then give DR another shot?

I knew you a bit in a previous form, and always found you to be a worthwhile fellow. Good luck in your adventures wherever they may be. I agree with your reasons, as was a reason for me to leave the clerics guild a year ago, after a 6 year stint with them. Again, good luck.
