There seems to be a general acceptance among the current empath team of the idea that empaths should be viable in combat. To this end, is there any chance of getting the ability to link in combat re-examined?

To elaborate: I think a concentration req and perhaps a combination skill req (empathy and armor or something?) would be appropriate for this.

I think the fatigue and concentration hits associated with LINK are quite enough of a negative effect, especially if you are in combat, considering what fatigue does to your defenses.

I'm not really suggesting adding more negative effects. However, I think it would be reasonable for it to take a little more concentration to maintain a link in combat than out. I'm not talking concentration hits on the order of Manipulating several critters, but rather maybe 1.5 times the amount you'd get from a standard link.

It's been discussed but honestly, so much going on at the moment it's not a high priority. I'll revisit it with folks upstairs when some holes open up in schedules, which should be not too long from now.

No promises, though.

Heh, obviously I need to start posting more.

As an FYI, however, that list is being abandoned in favor of incorporation into the Elanthipedia wiki.

J'Lo, I'm a ranger.. I'd believe anything.....
