Oh and the scripting language is a b**ch to get used to. But once you figure it out, it's a great tool. I would say I have mid-level knowledge of it, and it does me just fine.
Renegade Empath Raudhan just arrived.
A cutthroat gasps, "I can't get UP!"
You begin to lecture Reexa on the proper use of the brawling skill.
You cackle!
You strike a heroic pose.

If I ever do switch over, ideally I'd use both. But I'm guessing that's not possible currently. Did I ever mention that I like the graphical interface? And Purehand brought up a lot of other nifty elements I'd forgotten about--the note pad in particular is really useful.

>Actually each woundstate as shown in the touch readout really represents a range of three or four wound 'bits' so there'll still be a little bit of a fudge factor there.
Good to know. I figured as much, but I hadn't tried to test it. You can just assume the worst and do ok though.
>If you've got a large number of triggers set, does it slow things down much?
Not really. I run 3 instances of genie at once and I don't have any problems. Some of my scripts have a LOT of triggers too.
>Still not hearing the additional functionality and flexibility that crutch contains. Just a straight healing script that won't kill you.
The idea is once you know exactly what wounds you have taken, you can heal them exactly without wasting mana. You can decide if its worth it to cast HS or just ISH and ESH separately. And you can automate all of this.
But don't put me in the crutch-bashing crowd, I think its a great tool. I just love genie so I'll never be using it again.

Threephi, I would also like to have that newest version of the crutch. I had it, but then my old computer died and I lost it. You can just send it to my play.net.
Want to feel pretty, oh so pretty?

Simply enchanting dahling! (note: Please send all orders to my play.net)

>I am enjoying that you are all about the graphics...in a text based game :-P
Hehe... oh, the irony!
This actually touches on something I've always thought was kind of neat about playing a text game. My highlights are organized by color according to what kind of information a given string conveys--bleeder messages are in plain red, combat strings all have the same color, spellcasting is all the same color, weather messaging is all the same, and various 'someone is messing with you' (eg in your pockets) strings are all the same color, etc etc. It is impossible to actually read all the information streaming by on the game screen, and the highlights give me a... wait for it... graphical clue that some text or other is important to read, or can be ignored, depending on the situation.

E-mail's away, although I've had trouble with attachments to my play.net address in the past. I've also posted it on my FTP space:
http://mysite.verizon.net/threephi/dr/crutchplugin.exe
Everyone please be aware that this is the Strata plugin version, NOT the standalone Wizard version. You need Strata and Stormfront to run it.
There are a few small bugs in it but the biggest one IMO is that this version of the Crutch will not shut itself down once you quit DR or close Strata. You have to go into the Windows Task Manager and kill it manually.
