Here is a record of the evening's Vision Meeting.

Thank you!

Mistanna Redivas

[18:07] Miskton says, "Okay, I think that's enough time to wait on travelers. I think we can get started now. Thank you all for coming."
[18:08] Miskton says, "My primary purpose for scheduling this meeting is to discuss the visions that were seen during the group prediction experiment at the recent Moon Mage conclave."
[18:08] Miskton says, "There will likely be time to discuss other recent visions again as well, but I'd like to start with these."
[18:09] Miskton says, "To fill in those who were not present..."
[18:09] Zynara says to Miskton, "Oh that is excellent.. having been involved in the joust of the decade, I couldn't be at both places at the same time.. so that's fantastic."
[18:10] Levinas calmly says, "Marcul incoming."
[18:10] Miskton says, "During the conclave, there was an experiment in group prediction performed. The end results were... not ideal, but before Pelag ai Aldam took offense, we were able to see a number of visions."
[18:10] Marcul says, "Forgive my tardy arrival."
[18:11] Miskton says, "I'll go through those visions in the order in which I perceived them, though I'm not certain if there's any importance to that in particular."
[18:11] Miskton says, "In the first one..."
[18:11] Miskton says, "Fragments of prophecy slid into my mind unbidden. A grey haired man stood on the field of battle. Bodies surrounding him and his crimson robes hid much of the blood and viscera shed that day. A handful of mages rallied behind him, none entirely hale, but the shadows were approaching for another assault."
[18:13] Miskton says, "The grey haired man in crimson robes didn't leap out at me as someone I recognize, but the rest of the vision seems like it might tell a bit of the general story, especially combined with the other visions."
[18:14] Lijarna says, "Perchance the vision of the shadows swarming about the shell."
[18:14] Miskton says, "And Pelag ai Aldam has shown himself to be capable of unleashing shadow creatures."
[18:14] Miskton says, "Though perhaps he may have been aided in that by side effects of the group prediction effort..."
[18:15] Zynara asks, "Side effects?"
[18:15] Marcul says, "To be fair, we can all summon creatures of shadow."
[18:15] Zynara asks Marcul, "I think perhaps he meant the type which are far more aggressive than the ones we can ?"
[18:16] Miskton says, "That's true, but they aren't tied to this plane very strongly."
[18:16] Miskton says, "And something forcing them through from the other side is not a good sign, in general."
[18:17] Lijarna says, "Such a wound in the plane as that beneath Taisgath would require little prodding to loose such shadows, I would imagine."
[18:17] Miskton says, "But on the topic of side effects... Group prediction is a dangerous endeavor. My understanding is that it has a history of poor results, although I think much of what research there may be on it is not general knowledge."
[18:17] Miskton says, "And yes, Taisgath is already a weak point between the planes."
[18:18] Locistone asks, "A weak point or strong point?"
[18:18] Miskton says, "The vision of the shadows swarming over the giant shell seem to point to it being the point of incursion for this battle, as does the second vision from the group prediction."
[18:18] Locistone says, "I believe without Taisgath we would not be in the planes."
[18:19] Powerhaus asks Locistone, "Depends on how you look at it?"
[18:19] Miskton says, "A weak point in the barrier between the planes. Though a source of potential strength, yes."
[18:19] Miskton says, "That second vision..."
[18:19] Miskton says, "An obelisk stands before you, crafted of some translucent material and shimmer slightly with an internal light. Square at the base, it tapers as it rises to height of nearly fifteen feet. Shadows swirl within the monument, slowly drowning out the light. As the final glimmer is extinguished the obelisk explodes into a hail of molten shrapnel."
[18:20] Miskton says, "That... well. I think it speaks for itself."
[18:20] Miskton says, "Those obelisks are not exactly common, and with all that which already points toward Taisgath..."
[18:20] Renucci says, "Five of them in another vision."
[18:21] Renucci says, "One of them each exploding."
[18:21] Miskton says, "The vision of the towers was a bit less specific. The obelisk in this vision looked very specifically like the one on Taisgath."
[18:21] Powerhaus asks Renucci, "It varied between the two I think?"
[18:22] Renucci says, "I think so.."
[18:22] Powerhaus says, "One was more toppley, the other more explodey."
[18:22] Renucci says, "I'm getting old."
[18:22] Powerhaus says, "Shimmery and boom sounds about right though..."
[18:22] Miskton says, "One exploded, one imploded, and the rest crumbled, if I recall correctly."
[18:22] Powerhaus says, "For something like that..."
[18:22] Powerhaus says to Renucci, "Things tend to go white..."
[18:22] Locistone asks, "What about the one near Leth?"
[18:23] Longs asks, "To loci Asharshpar'i?"
[18:23] Locistone says, "No."
[18:23] Locistone says, "The Obelisk."
[18:23] Longs says, "Oh."
[18:23] Locistone says, "You play with it and it kills you."
[18:23] Miskton says, "Tozu might be able to speak a bit more to that one."
[18:24] Lijarna asks, "The one nestled within the snow. yes?"
[18:25] Miskton says, "The one on Taisgath is the one that the Children of Kalestraum have been showing interest in, I believe. And one of the other visions makes me think they might be involved, though it's a bit of a guess on my part."
[18:25] Miskton says, "I'll get to that one, but first the next vision that I saw..."
[18:26] Miskton says, "Halls of marble surrounded me and shattered crystal panes filled the sky above. An eerie silence hung over the halls, broken only by the soft flutter and twitter of tropical birds. Indistinct mutterings attracted my attention and I turned to find an emaciated gnome wandering the halls. His grey eyes were continually downcast and dull, and scant wisps of black hair remained to him."
[18:26] Zynara asks, "That sounds familiar to this place?"
[18:26] You say to Zynara, "I was rather thinking so as well."
[18:27] Lijarna says, "Quite."
[18:27] Miskton says, "I know he's warned us about jumping to conclusions about who we might be seeing in visions, but I can't help but see a similarity to Tozu there."
[18:27] Miskton says, "Or at least, Tozu after something very bad has happened to him..."
[18:27] Lijarna says, "With such specificity given to us in the vision, it is hard not to make that connection."
[18:28] Powerhaus asks, "Wonder if he'd handle that as well as Tiv did?"
[18:28] Levinas calmly says, "Doubtful."
[18:28] Miskton says, "I'm not sure anyone would."
[18:29] Powerhaus says, "He always seemed a bit more flexible and adaptable than rigid and stern to me."
[18:29] Zynara says, "Sometimes it makes me wonder.. when we have those specific visions.. we have others which are vague and I wonder if perhaps the specific ones are that way to divert our attention to the more important vague ones."
[18:29] Powerhaus says, "Well I hope the best for him then, if it is.."
[18:30] Miskton says, "I think it might also be a good idea for the Crystal Vanguard to be on alert. Whatever shatters the skylights may not be limited to just the guild."
[18:32] Miskton says, "Moving on the next vision... Perhaps someone will be able to help me with this. My memory of the event I'm thinking of is failing me a bit."
[18:32] Lijarna says, "If something akin to what happened to the hall of the Monks happened with such a place as this..."
[18:32] Miskton says, "The results did not look quite that bad, at least. Certainly, if the birds survive."
[18:33] Miskton says, "Still, it would be something fairly powerful..."
[18:33] Miskton says, "Right, the vision."
[18:33] Lijarna says, "Would that we could all fly from danger so conveniently."
[18:33] Miskton says, "An elderly S'Kra Mur gazed toward me, his empty eye sockets burning with arcane power. My unconscious mind screamed out a warning, pulling me away from those threads of fate before I could examine them further."
[18:33] Miskton says, "Does anyone recall the member of the Children of Kalestraum who attempted to do something to the obelisk on Taisgath some time back? I recall hearing he was a S'Kra Mur."
[18:34] Miskton says, "I don't know his age, though."
[18:34] Locistone says, "Yeah."
[18:34] Lasciel says, "All S'kra are elderly."
[18:35] Levinas calmly says, "Too bad Skaen isn't present."
[18:35] Rifkinn asks, "Hhistin? or something?"
[18:35] Lasciel says, "He's elderly."
[18:35] Miskton says, "That sounds familiar."
[18:36] Miskton says, "And admittedly, I do have some trouble telling how old S'Kra are."
[18:36] Locistone says, "Was Hhstin."
[18:36] Rifkinn says, "Oh Hhstin."
[18:36] Locistone says to Rifkinn, "Wasn't too long after that and magic was lost for a lil."
[18:38] Miskton says, "I'm not sure what he was planning, but magical power so intense that it blasts out your eyes, and can be felt as danger even through the medium of a vision seems like something the Children of Kalestraum would be interested in."
[18:38] Rifkinn says, "Wasn't he trying to do something with Sorcery? I wasn't there for what happened."
[18:38] Miskton says, "Unless Hhstin is already blind, I suppose. Again, I don't know much about him."
[18:39] Renucci asks Powerhaus, "You heard about Hhstin?"
[18:39] Powerhaus says to Renucci, "Sorta... I don't recall if he's blind..."
[18:39] Powerhaus says, "I kinda wanna confuse him with the one Xerasyth used to become a S'kra."
[18:39] Powerhaus says, "Similiar horribly s'kra'ish name... unless it's the same..."
[18:40] Miskton says, "I suppose Lomtaun would know. I believe there were some witnesses at the time, though. If any of them can be found and recall what he looked like, that might be helpful."
[18:40] Rifkinn asks, "So that Hhstin fella wasn't killed?"
[18:41] Miskton says, "Driven off, I believe."
[18:42] Miskton says, "The last vision that we experienced was... intriguing. And I suppose it's possible it wasn't actually a vision in the traditional sense, given all that was going on."
[18:42] Miskton says, "The world faded and became a land of shadow and harsh, chill light. Incomprehensible creatures roamed the bizarre landscape and one in particular soared about on bat-wings driving the lesser creatures before it. The land darkened with her passage and ever stranger monstrosities rose and took shape in her wake."
[18:43] Lasciel says, "Nice."
[18:43] Renucci exclaims, "And then it appeared!"
[18:43] Locistone asks, "Tethia passed over to our realm?"
[18:43] Miskton says, "So I really don't know if I was actually seeing into the Plane of Probability directly, or through the medium of a vision."
[18:44] Miskton says, "Given what Pelag ai Aldam was able to do afterwards, we may very well have actually created an opening between the planes."
[18:45] Powerhaus says to Locistone, "Could even be Maelshvye."
[18:45] Miskton says, "As it was shortly afterwards that he raged at us, and then sent a shadowy colossus after us."
[18:45] Powerhaus says, "I heard about that part."
[18:45] Renucci says, "Ugle Colossus."
[18:46] Powerhaus says to Renucci, "I think Hssarith was the other weird name I couldn't remember..."
[18:46] Powerhaus says to Renucci, "A lot of seems to run together..."
[18:46] Renucci says, "I think I was sleeping then."
[18:46] Miskton says, "I've never seen a shadow creature so large... and then when it was injured, parts of it formed into tenebraelings that went into wild frenzies."
[18:47] Miskton says, "And that was the extent of what we saw before the shadows started raging and people started dying."
[18:48] Miskton says, "If anyone can come up with a potential identity of the mage in the first vision, or some more evidence pointing to whether or not the S'kra was Hhstin, I think that information could be useful."
[18:48] Miskton says, "Otherwise, I think both Shard and Taisgath need to be on guard."
[18:49] Miskton asks, "Does anyone have any questions, points they'd like to make, or a desire to discuss any other recent visions?"
[18:49] Powerhaus exclaims to you, "Someone should run to Shard!"
[18:50] Renucci says to you, "He's always lost."
[18:50] Powerhaus says to you, "It'd be a short trip at least..."
[18:50] Powerhaus says, "So this shadow thing..."
[18:50] You say, "Maybe a bit of a fall."
[18:50] Powerhaus asks, "Did it act like tenebraelings and the sort?"
[18:50] Powerhaus asks, "Or did it do anything peculiar?"
[18:50] Powerhaus asks, "Speak in weird tongues?"
[18:51] Powerhaus says, "Weird... other than exist, and turn into smaller things..."
[18:51] Miskton says, "I don't recall it talking, but things were rather hectic."
[18:51] Powerhaus asks, "Or do anything when it died?"
[18:51] Miskton says, "It seemed to be mostly stomping on people and crushing them with its fists."
[18:51] Renucci says, "If it did say anything I didn't hear it with all the commotion."
[18:51] Miskton says, "It did fall on someone and crush them when it was defeated, I think."
[18:51] Powerhaus says to Miskton, "Nothing wrong with that either."
[18:51] You say, "Just that it fell over on Vahlissa when it finally stayed down."
[18:52] Renucci says, "Glad it wasn't me."
[18:52] Powerhaus says to himself, "Totally should've invited myself..."
[18:52] Lijarna says, "And the creatures it spawned kept everyone busy throughout the meeting place."
[18:52] Renucci says, "Those little pesky shadowlings."
[18:52] Renucci says, "Very hard to get your hands on."
[18:53] Miskton says, "At least they have smaller teeth and claws."
[18:54] Powerhaus asks, "So you gonna attempt another one?"
[18:54] Locistone says, "I would love to delve into another group prediction."
[18:54] Powerhaus asks, "It can't go worse than a prayer vigil to Dergati?"
[18:55] Miskton says, "While I'm interested in what else we might see, I have to imagine the end results might be even worse."
[18:55] Powerhaus says to Zynara, "I thought it was funny..."
[18:55] Locistone says, "Or better."
[18:56] Longs says, "Might get a clearer picture."
[18:56] Locistone says, "We could finally see what is really happening."
[18:56] Powerhaus asks Miskton, "Maybe have someone with more experience guide?"
[18:56] Powerhaus says, "Or try something else... your guild's about exploding 1000 times to get something right."
[18:56] Powerhaus says, "Then another 10,000 to perfect it."
[18:56] Powerhaus says, "Then another 1000, just because."
[18:57] Powerhaus says to you, "But you make such lovely explosions."
[18:57] Renucci says to Powerhaus, "And you do it once and have it all just perfect."
[18:57] Rifkinn says, "I have to get going."
[18:57] Rifkinn says, "Thanks everyone."
[18:57] Rifkinn says, "Safe paths."
[18:57] You say, "Just as I passed infront of the Pillar of Introspection, standing above the waves... I became stunned... for quite some time... and experienced the following..."
[18:57] Locistone asks Powerhaus, "Are you volunteering to head the vision?"
[18:57] You say, "A chorus of voices raise in an angry chant from somewhere ahead of you. The words and distorted noises are incomprehensible, yet send an instinctual dread crawling up from the base of your spine."
[18:57] Powerhaus says to Locistone, "You don't want to see what I see..."
[18:58] Locistone says to Powerhaus, "I do want to see."
[18:58] You ask, "It just seemed quite familiar to the vision that... is just the babbling chanting, perhaps?"
[18:58] Powerhaus says to Locistone, "None for you."
[18:58] Miskton says, "Hmm."
[18:58] Powerhaus asks you, "Like in unison? or like a mob?"
[18:58] Miskton says to you, "That does seem similar, yes."
[19:00] Renucci says, "The worse part is the difficulties recently to even get a vision at all."
[19:00] Zynara says, "Or at least the feeling it's more difficult."
[19:00] Miskton says, "Ah, yes. Thank you to Mistanna for pointing this out to me..."
[19:01] Miskton says, "I would suggest people observe the constellation of the Wolf. It seems that whatever has been happening there continues to progress."
[19:01] Powerhaus asks Miskton, "Has it changed any?"
[19:02] Zynara says, "Oh yes.. that is different."
[19:02] Miskton says, "The stars are even weaker now, against a stronger backdrop of red and purple-brown."
[19:02] Locistone says, "An Elothean mage. Amusing."
[19:02] Powerhaus asks, "So... it's passing through the stars? coming closer?"
[19:02] Locistone says, "Not many of them ranting about."
[19:03] Miskton says, "Coming closer, or growing."
[19:03] Miskton says, "Or both, I suppose."
[19:03] Powerhaus asks, "Did it change colors too?"
[19:03] Zynara says, "I think the colors remain the same."
[19:03] Renucci says, "The stars forming the Wolf smolder fitfully against a vast canvas of red and purple-brown."
[19:03] Miskton says, "No, it's been that same general unpleasant mix of colors all along."
[19:05] Miskton says, "As far as I know, there are still no records of known omens corresponding to this."
[19:07] Miskton asks, "Any other topics people would like to discuss, while we're here?"
[19:07] Renucci says to Powerhaus, "Describe Terald to me please.."
[19:07] Longs asks, "Has anyone tried to predict event lately?"
[19:07] Miskton says, "A few times tonight, yes."
[19:07] Marcul asks, "I arrived late, so forgive me if we already discussed this. But have we talked about the purple-robed scholars?"
[19:08] Longs says, "Last 7 times I have tried I haven't been able to."
[19:08] Renucci says to Longs, "I've had a difficult time too."
[19:08] Miskton says, "Previously, yes, although I suppose there is now some new information relevant to that vision."
[19:08] Zynara asks Longs, "Are you spelled up to enhance your visionary senses?"
[19:09] Longs says, "Not this second."
[19:09] Miskton says, "I had thought it indicated some G'nar Pethians uncovering a device of some sort, and now that there's been word about the discovery of an orrery, I think that's likely the device seen in the vision."
[19:10] Miskton says, "Hopefully I'll get a chance to take a look at it myself, soon."
[19:10] You ask, "There's an archaeologist speaking in Crossing tomorrow, nae sure if there's any relation, but it still should be interesting?"
[19:10] Renucci says, "Terald."
[19:11] Miskton says, "I certainly intend to drop by."
[19:11] Longs says, "3 pm elven."
[19:11] Renucci says, "Darn Power.. I asked about him and got no answer."
[19:11] Longs says, "New dining room in Raven's Court."
[19:12] Miskton says, "I won't mind seeing that, too."
[19:13] Miskton says, "Okay then... Unless there are any final thoughts, I think we can call it here."
[19:13] Miskton says, "Thank you all for coming and sharing your thoughts."
[19:14] You say to Miskton, "Thank you for leading us today."
[19:14] Vansiil says, "Thank you."
[19:14] Miskton says, "My pleasure, as always."
[19:14] Zynara says to Miskton, "Thank you for your hosting these events."
[19:14] You say, "Have a good evenin' everyone."
[19:14] Zynara says, "Be well."
[19:15] Lijarna says, "Safe paths, all."
[19:15] Miskton says, "Enjoy the rest of the night, all."

Just a small note - there have been no mechanical changes to event prediction lately, or at least there shouldn't be.

If people are actually finding event prediction to suddenly be harder I'd be interested in more information so I can try and see if something is up.

And a reminder (since I've forgotten before), event prediction is much, much slower in the day.
