Once again we had Miskton moderate the Visions Meeting held in Therenborough at the Theren Guard Headquarters Aerial Meditation garden. Thank you to everyone who attended and contributed to the discussion, and of course to Miskton for your excellence in leading the discussion.
Regards,
Zynara, Speaker, Theren Guard
[Theren Guard Headquarters, Aerial Meditation Garden]
Also here: Lunar Mage Longs, Battlefield Scribe Mistanna, Psychokinetic Locistone, Visionist Verrek, Visionist Miskton, Observer Lijarna, Mystic Aegis Vahlissa who is sitting and Battle Empath Jaressa.
Following is the conversation log of the discussion.
You say, "Welcome to the Theren Guard Headquarters Meditation Gardens."
Vahlissa says, "It's lovely."
You say to Miskton, "Sorry for the delay in the start.. I'll turn this over to you so you may begin."
Jaressa says, "A fitting room for a visions meeting."
You say, "Oh.. there are a bunch of lovely flowers to pick as well."
You say, "And most are wearable."
Miskton says to you, "Let's see... should we wait a bit? I think I heard the folks announcing the meeting giving a slightly later starting time."
You say, "Please avail yourself of some refreshments."
You say, "Sorry for the confusion folks.. I set this meeting up for the start of 9 bells, but it appears the message got changed to 9 and a half bells."
You say, "So we're going to wait just a tad before starting."
Longs exclaims, "So i am early!"
You say, "Yes."
Longs says, "Thats new."
You say, "Course.... you could say.. this was all in your plan."
Longs says, "Well of course."
You say, "Because you "knew" it would happen this way.. clairvoyance and all."
Longs says, "Well yes thats it."
Vahlissa says, "So, there was a solo Shadow Master that made an appearance outside the Empath guild in Crossing."
Vahlissa says, "Two days ago."
You ask, "Really?"
You say, "Good gravy."
Miskton says, "Okay then... I think it's just about time to get started."
Miskton says, "Thank you all for coming. Now, there's not much in the way of new visions to discuss at the moment, so there's a couple ways we could go with this."
Miskton says, "I thought, perhaps, if anyone has any visions they've seen recently that they're concerned or curious about, we could start by going over those."
You ask, "You okay?"
Longs says, "Yes."
You say, "He's gettin' started."
Longs says, "Sorry."
Miskton says, "Otherwise, I can just start talking about some from those being seen most recently."
Miskton says, "But if there's any in particular that speak to people, it would be good to focus on those, I think."
Verrek mildly says, "The one of the Elf."
Verrek mildly says, "Silver flecked eyes."
Miskton asks, "The elderly elf, yes?"
Verrek mildly asks, "Whats he talking about?"
Verrek mildly says, "They will blame us, the few who tried."
Miskton says, "Based on the appearance of the elf in the vision, the current consensus seems to be that he is Karosti."
Miskton says, "As for what he is answering... That's not quite as certain, but it seems likely that the Children of Kalestraum may have their own problems with the steps that Pelag ai Aldam has been taking against seers of late."
You say, "Been particularly bothersome in the ways lately."
Verrek mildly asks, "And also, what mountain was he lookin at?"
Miskton says, "The resolve that we lack may be the resolve to make use of some great work of sorcery, which seems like one of the few things that might actually be able to strike back against Pelag ai Aldam."
Locistone says to Miskton, "But that's illegal."
Verrek mildly says, "Legal, illegal."
Miskton says, "Things would certainly be much easier if the Children cared about that."
Verrek mildly says, "I say win and live, sort your morals after."
Locistone says, "I bet they do. They need to travel just as much as the next guy. Probably more."
Lijarna says, "Yes, those that threaten us seldom care about the laws of the provinces, Pelag included."
Miskton says to Verrek, "Well, it may turn out to be an issue of your house being on fire, so you cause a mudslide to put it out. We don't know what Karosti has up his sleeves, but it's unlikely to be subtle."
Miskton says, "The enemy of our enemy is not necessarily our friend, in this case. But our thoughts on the matter aren't likely to impact the Children much. The guild itself may well move against them if the chance arise, though."
Miskton says, "And since we're on ominous topics, I invite everyone to take a look at the sky and observe the constellation of the Wolf. It hasn't changed recently, but it's not looking promising at the moment. And I have the feeling that whatever is happening up there, it isn't finished yet."
You say, "Pardon me a moment."
Rifkinn says, "Thanks."
You say, "Meet me inside the gate."
Miskton says, "Ah, yes. Demosel and Amiss..."
Miskton says, "I've not met the two of them, myself, but I've been informed that the women seen in the visions are credible likenesses of those two mages."
Lijarna says, "It is good to be able to put names to the faces, at least, even if their futures are shadowed."
Miskton says, "Neither of them could be called easy prey, so whatever it is, is definitely dangerous."
Miskton says, "I've also heard rumors out of Throne City of at least one mysterious death, with no known cause."
Locistone asks, "When did this happen?"
Lijarna asks, "Who was the victim?"
Miskton says, "A scribe, I believe."
Verrek mildly asks, "And no apparent cause?"
Locistone asks, "Not good, what else do you know of it?"
Miskton says, "Not much else, I'm afraid."
Miskton says, "I've been a bit tied up of late, though I may have the opportunity to try asking around in Throne City a bit."
Rifkinn says, "I had heard rumors of something going on with a certain king out there, but it was a one off thing, and i was able to get it completly confirmed."
You ask, "A certain king in Throne?"
Verrek mildly says to Miskton, "Weigh the risk, sounds like Throne is getting a lil dodgy for us."
Rifkinn says to you, "He calls himself a king atleast."
You ask, "What's his name?"
Lijarna asks, "The king in the old Colosseum?"
Miskton says to Verrek, "There's some parts of town to avoid, but I've generally felt pretty safe there."
You say, "Oh that fellow."
Miskton says, "Oh, yes, I did put a note down in here..."
Miskton says, "There have apparently been a few mysterious deaths. One of them was a Celestian, found dead in his office, slumped over some papers. No marks on him."
Locistone says, "Bacon burger donuts do that."
Lijarna asks, "Any chance that his papers held anything of import that was noted?"
Verrek mildly asks, "And how do we know the death un natural or self inflicted?"
Miskton says, "Not that I'm aware of."
Locistone says, "May have been natural."
Verrek mildly says, "Imarin is on his way by the by."
Locistone says, "I was up there the other day and did not notice anything out of the ordinary."
Miskton says, "It's possible it was natural, yes."
You say, "We are just a few steps from the turtle."
Miskton says, "But with the possibility of an invisible assailant that can cause people to drop dead, it would probably be a good idea not to ignore it."
You ask, "Am I hearing this correctly.. these deaths took place in throne?"
Locistone says, "Wonder who the others were."
Miskton says, "The Celestian, definitely. Anything else is rumors that I have even fewer details on."
You ask, "Has there been any news on Tiv or his condition?"
Miskton says, "Possibly spread by other people getting nervous about the same thing, of course."
Miskton says to you, "Some discussion of relocating him to Throne City, supposedly, but no one seems to be in a rush to push anything on him."
You say, "Just hadn't heard anything in a while.. though I have sorta been scatterbrained lately."
Miskton says, "There's also a vision that may feature him."
Miskton says, "It's not... particularly ominous, but it is sad."
Rifkinn says, "Just a normal vision then."
Miskton says, "An old man sat in darkness. Alone. In his hands rested a cracked crystal that softly glowed with a sterile light, illuminating his frosty eyes."
You say, "Yes.. I saw that one as well.. you're right.. very sad.. but why is he alone."
Verrek mildly asks, "Tiv was at the crystal hand stronghold right?"
Lijarna asks, "Is it thought that this crystal may be one of those used by the monks in their divinations, or something else?"
Verrek mildly asks, "Have you seen the place?"
Rifkinn says, "Though the Zoluren court scribe is currently in darkness and i remember seeing via mirror he had a cracked crystal ring."
Miskton says, "He's had a crystal with him since he returned."
You say to Rifkinn, "The eyes really make me think of Tiv.. his have changed since his return."
Verrek mildly says, "I was told it was obliterated, but it was more like smited."
Miskton says, "A crystal hand, to be precise. And Tiv's eyes have been frosty since... well."
Verrek mildly says, "And a skeleton pinned under the hand."
Verrek mildly says, "I'd look sad about that too."
You say, "Terribly sad thing that happened there.. not to mention.. the loss of that shard."
Miskton says, "I hope at some point we'll be able to arrange an expedition out there with tools to clean things up a bit, and lay some of those remains to rest. The interior of the fortress may be sealed for good, though."
You say, "I hope we're able to recover the artifacts which were stored there."
Mistanna asks, "I thought most of the artifacts that could be recovered had?"
Mistanna says, "Though, there could still be a lot of flow to cover..."
You say, "The part that was in the museum there was sealed off by the explosion I thought."
Locistone says, "Most? Even one lost is not good."
Miskton says, "Anything still in the museum is unlikely to be recoverable, but some things were blown clear of the mountain."
Verrek mildly says, "There are pieces of everything everywhere there..........it's really bad."
Miskton says, "But perhaps bringing in someone with underground construction skill would be of use. Maybe some dwarves from Stone Clan."
You say, "All I know is that the Guildleader moongated out right before it blew and killed us all.. I just had the impression the Museum area might have been saved."
Miskton says, "Well, if that mirror shard auctioned at the latest Guildfest was really what it was purported to be... the museum probably took considerably damage."
Mistanna says, "This telescope is one of the artifacts that had been recovered from the Fists erupting... It was auctioned off during the Festival that came afterwards. I think there were a few others, but..."
Lijarna asks, "Does Emalerje yet rest within the ruins?"
Locistone asks, "What ever happen with that mirror?"
Miskton says to Lijarna, "It may, but it's unreachable."
Miskton says, "It might take more than a volcano to actually destroy a shard, though."
Lijarna says, "I have not had the courage to even walk its conduit since."
Mistanna says, "Tis not possible, if you seek it from inside of the pillars, you cannot find the landmark. Tis as if the naming ritual was undone."
Locistone says, "Or cursed to be hidden."
You say, "I would think being sealed in what is likely a bunch of lava.. would make it rather hard to sense."
Mistanna says, "If it did not melt in the molten lava."
You say, "I would wonder about that.. if those shards were able to survive the atmosphere when Grazhir was destroyed."
Locistone says, "A shard melt? History as I like to think it says it took extreme heat just to break it."
Verrek mildly says, "I think it would take more than mere lava to melt one."
You say, "But who knows."
Miskton says, "I lean toward the idea of it still being intact, but it's likely to be only an academic point for some time."
Verrek mildly asks, "Thats the problem of the hour isn't it?"
Verrek mildly says, "Lack of factual knowledge."
You say, "The strange thing.. when Tiv was gone."
You say, "Whereever in the planes he went."
You say, "He returned to that place."
Locistone says, "If it's hard for us to perceive them through water I bet we would have a challenge to find it in hardened lava."
You say, "At least to the doors."
You say, "So.. it makes one wonder.. for sure.. I hope the shard can be recovered."
Miskton says, "Let's see..."
Miskton says, "On a lighter note, I think we can consider the outcome of one vision to be confirmed."
Miskton says, "I found myself amidst a small gathering of dusty scholars clad in purple robes. They huddled about a modestly large excavation in the sunbaked ground chattering animatedly. Several brass spokes jutted from the dig, each capped with a differently colored sphere."
Miskton says, "An artifact was recovered from Su Helmas, and brought to the Imperial Palace to be put on display."
You ask, "The Orrery?"
Locistone asks, "Has anyone been to see it?"
You say, "Really is instrumental in the invocation of spheres."
Miskton asks, "Hmm... Anything else in particular that people would like to discuss?"
Locistone says, "I feel like my instincts have been correct. There's some investigation to be had in Throne City."
Miskton says, "I think that might be a good idea, yes."
Miskton says, "I think it's also likely to be worth keeping an eye on Taisgath, though I'll get to that in a little bit."
Mistanna says, "I saw something a bit peculiar the other day. I think that someone had broken a good amount of devourer eggs, but it was not a shadow master. There was some other shadowy thing that was attacking people infront of the Empath's guild in Crossing. I'm afraid I missed it's creation, though."
Miskton says, "Interesting."
Mistanna says, "Quite a few people had trouble getting spell patterns to stick to it..."
Locistone asks, "What did you noticed they tried?"
Mistanna says, "But it was dispatched rather quickly, so I hadn't time to study it either."
Mistanna says, "Evro had tried something... and another was speaking of it, I forget who now. Apologies."
Locistone says, "It's ok, I am sure it was chaotic."
Miskton says, "That might be worth investigating."
Mistanna says, "I might have to start gathering pearls..."
Locistone says, "I tried that not too long ago myself. Came up with nothing at the thirteenth drop of a pearl."
You ask, "Is it possible someone had contained it on one of those jars and dropped it.. or do you think someone did that enchantment?"
Miskton says, "Preferably somewhere less busy than the streets of Crossing, though."
Locistone says, "Shattered."
Mistanna says, "I saw two devourers created I stepped quickly away and returned to the shadow-creature. But it could be possible."
Mistanna says, "Created before I stepped away, that is."
You say, "Interesting."
Locistone says, "Very."
You say, "I see you Defiler, I claim you."
Miskton says, "Yes, Pelag ai Aldam has been making his presence known."
You say, "That is rather creepy."
You say, "Hmmm."
Miskton says, "So, I mentioned Taisgath earlier, and since the discussion of shadow creatures came up this vision remains relevant..."
Miskton says, "I glimpsed a gigantic shell swarmed by living shadows. Magic crackled in the air though the vision faded before I could properly orient on the source."
Verrek mildly says, "I've seen that one too."
You say, "Been a while since I saw that particular one."
Miskton says, "Given the interest they've shown in the obelisk, it's possible the plan the Children of Kalestraum have might involve it."
Miskton says, "Or perhaps Pelag ai Aldam might attempt to make use of the weak planar boundary on the island, and send shadow creatures through."
Miskton says, "Or it could be something else entirely, but it looks dangerous."
Lijarna says, "It would not seem to be beyond them to co-opt the creatures of shadow to reach their goals."
Miskton says, "Let's see... I believe that's all I have, for the time being."
Miskton says, "That lets us wrap up in plenty of time for Liulirias' lecture on Kuniyo, for anyone interested in that."
You say, "The crows."
Locistone says to Miskton, "Thank you, you have given me some thing to think about."
You ask, "Been a while since those were seen, no?"
Locistone says, "Ooh."
Mistanna asks you, "Do you think they heralded the commotion out at The Great Barrier?"
You say, "It's possible."
Miskton says, "The first vision featuring them, yes. The second one... well, we were never really able to figure out much from the first vision."
You say, "But I haven't seen them in a while.. just sensed it."
You say, "In any event."
Mistanna says, "I've seen the second one recently."
You say to Miskton, "Thank you again for moderating this discussion. .Your insight and orderly discussion is always very welcomed and a valuable service."
Lijarna says, "Yes, the second one has been among recent visions."
Miskton says, "My pleasure, as always."
You say, "Thank you all for attending as well."
Mistanna says to Miskton, "Thank you, also."
Locistone says, "Thank you, everyone."
Lijarna says to Miskton, "Your guidance and wisdom are always appreciated."
Verrek mildly says to Miskton, "Thank you for helping me understand."
