Whats so special about the belt knife that its become the #1 brand name in dark ritual sacrifices?

Im sure my short sword would be ill suited as its a sword but what about scalpels or other "small" LE's like ritual knives and whatnot? Can/will they be used?

Unless of course I get to bond with my belt knife like some sorta sick Dr. Giggles, giving me to ability to slit a moonies throat instantly, id perfer to use a scalpel for these anatomy classes.

I believe the intention of belt knives were so that it wouldn't be so obvious, when people go around accusing everyone carrying a belt knife though...

All serial killers wear pants, therefore, people with pants are serial killers. Not valid reasoning but then again, people aren't rational. Don't be an emomancer by wearing all black and perform cut yourself in public and you should be fine. Seems people will well enough leave you alone if you're halfway decent at RP and keep your wits about you.

Doesnt matter if non necros can wear em and wearin one doesnt mean your a necro, it matters that your wearin one and ARE a necromancer. Remember even if you do nothing wrong and someone accuses you for giggles anyway your gona go down since they shouldnt of suspected in the first place. I never knew belt knives could be worn and used until necro's became released, ive always grabbed another blade skinned and stowed it and i intend to do the same as a necro with rituals.

Id just like to see a wider selection of blades or be givin a IG reason as to why only belt knives will work, such as coding issues of most LE's work with ritual, in which case id hope to see some merchants soon selling other wearables that arent neccisarily a "Belt knife"

The belt knives were only released like 2-3 weeks before the Necromancer guild came out, that's why you never saw/used them beforehand.

fluff hiders are gods gift to dragonrealms. Everyone should use them. Since you can specify one item that is hidden to "ALWAYS" been seen by "sort down." It really forces you to take a hard look at your character and what he wants to look like.

I have my steel bracers currently showing through my fluff hider because it's pretty much the coolest item I've ever owned.

Gonif,

Are you suggesting that a spell be written specifically to allow necromancers to move into an area protected by holy magic for the purpose of constructing a vulture heart candy trail for Khurek to follow?

I think belt knives stand as a considerate gesture on the GMs part; there's no reason to make us put away our weapon, grab a special ritual knife, do our thing, put the knife away, and get our weapon each time we want to do something. That's just ridiculous.

I love my belt knife. You'd have to pry it off my dead waist to get me to take it off.

I imagine you'll be able to get away with belt knives again in the absence of other fluff "soon."

I still wouldn't wear one for awhile in town.

Yes, because making everyone do it for the past 11+ years to learn skinning is TOTALLY different.

I must say that this was a LONG time coming and am very thankful for it. Between this and the ranger perk to be able to use any weapon to skin with, I am a happy skinner.

I don't think they meant to wait 11 years. I just think no one came up with the idea is all. Then one of the necro GM's was like "How can we let necros hide they are doing rituals? Hmm....belt knives for ritual...... OH SKINNING TOO."

I agree, but I was just making a comment about how horribly inconvenient it is to have to stow weapon;draw knife;ritual;stow knife;draw weapon, since that is exactly the same process for skinning.

Honestly, I wasn't annoyed by this until I didn't have to do it anymore. But I am REALLY glad I don't have to.

BTW, belt worn item hiders ftw?

I would hate to see this change if the wrong person reads this post, however, I don't see what the big deal about worn belt knives are. If your a smart Necro like myself then you probably already realized the ritual can be used by either a: an oben(because that's what I have in my right hand) or b: a belt knife INSIDE your pack. Either way I have a knife, no one knows I have a knife, and I can still use said knife when performing rituals in the hunting grounds. necromancy FTW.

I love the belt knives personally. So that I didn't have to take my barb to shard to get one, I gave him one from my necromancer. He bought it at a premium from a trader heading north...or at least that's what he'd likely tell you. As was stated, non-necros can use them and they're great, especially if you use a hablerd/pike all the time. They used to be great for skinning, at least in terms of teaching...but that has gone by the wayside. I imagine I'm the only one disappointed by that...

I was fond of it at the time, but I prefer making triple the coin and still locking.
