Dear Philosophers, Researchers, Beasts, Damned, and all between:

The blind masses thrive as they continue towards their mindless destination, while we work mostly in secret towards an inevitable freedom that clouded minds cannot even comprehend. Time has grown quiet and the chance to become stagnant in our own work has always been a reality that few of us care to admit to. We are able to shackle ourselves to a slavery of the mind all while seeking the Great Work and the freedom it will allow us. If you doubt this, see how many around you now are chained to such repetitions that they no longer even remember the freedom they hoped for in the first place.

I have no doubt that many of you prefer to be hidden in your nooks and libraries, keeping your findings to yourself. But I offer those of you who seek more an opportunity. I shall host an evening where I will share my time and findings with you. My experience, my thoughts, my goals, and even my answers to your potentially clueless questions will all be freely given. If you are lucky perhaps one of the few others I respect and have shown themselves to be worthy of time will make an appearance and you will have the opportunity to actually learn something. You too are welcome to share, as long as you take the time to not sound like a fool while doing so (be warned).

You have a few days to prepare, and we shall meet here in this room so that people can't complain about being lost.

If any of you prove that you might amount to something, then I might even consider taking on an apprentice or two. But as I spend more time in the guild, I am reminded that few are worth such effort.

Very rarely, other than circling or waiting for death's sting to wear off. Suppose it is an ideal place to hold a gathering though.

A robed figure stops in front of the parchment, quickly tacking their own beside the first before stalking away. Written in a hasty script, it reads:

To those who would be lulled into false confidence:

The movement in the shadows. Sijan. The eyes that weight heavily upon your back. Sijan. The soft voice that whispers your name unto the guards. Sijan. The hand that defiles your research. Sijan.

Do not be fooled, Sijan has no answers. At best, those who attend this gathering will be treated to long list of failures. Failures, that can be attributed to experiments unworthy of the Work, and failures due to ineptness. For who among you will trust the reported failings of others when it may be an attempt to mask your own eyes from future greatness. The failings of others, even if indeed true failings on their part, may be your success. How can another match your tenacity and insight? At worst, this meeting will prove a chance for you to empower your rivals with knowledge, or perhaps offer your vessel of flesh to a cold stone slab for experimentation by one of the more senior attendees.

Do not allow yourself to foster the notion of brotherhood among our ranks. Few are they who truly seek the work for the benevolence of all mortals. Should I, myself, cast aside the chains the Gods have unjustly heaped upon us, will not share my results with others freely. I will not delude myself in thinking that you would do differently. You, I, all of us, are tools to be used and discarded when no longer required.

I will not be duped.
