Theives get a quick engage ability in shadow step, war mages got a 'keep you at melee' type ability in the revamped ring of spears, hell even Bards can keep you at melee using sire.
please give us something cool, you have the technology, you can rebuild it

I'll take an engagement rewrite that makes melee not pointless in PvP.
Or a spell that compels melee/prevents retreat.

There was once a planned spell that increased the speed at which you could advance, not sure what happened with it.
Some sort of ability along these lines would also help a tad with a paladins lack of stealth. Being the only guild who cannot use stealth in combat we really should have a powerful anti stealth abiltiy or something else that makes up for it.

Well, we do. Glyph of Light is big, so is watch. I dont think we need more anti-stealth tools as much as we need anti-missle-range tools.

Fair way to handle it. I personally hate training crossbows, and bows didn't fit the character concept anyway.

Truth. Pretty much universal truth, in fact.
I enjoy my giant pole range axe-on-a-stick though. HT Axe-to-face is also pretty fun, but sadly toppled by shield.

I haven't bothered with either Thrown. LX suits me for ranged. I'm simple. My melees are HE, 2HE, and Brawling. A bastard sword and perma-blessed fists. Most other weapons are dumb.
