Where are all the deaders? I got my nice handy Glyph of Warding and I haven't even seen a dead person.

Secondly, when I fleed from grass eels I thought I would take a soul hit, but I could not detect one.

Thirdly, do we take combat effectiveness hits dependant on the state of our soul?

Fourthly, I bought the suit of plate I have been eyeing from the Paladin guild, black plate with a red scorpion, how is the stats on it?

I've found most folks, particularly in the heavily trafficed Crossing area, don't want a ward. They would rather wait a few minutes for a raising cleric. I find the "bond" glyph is appreciated more often.

I think we should take a soul hit for executing a flee command, that's just me though.

I've never noticed a hit to combat effectiveness, defensive or offensive, for soul state. Just spells.

If the guild armours aren't on "Kynevon's" appraisal chart (previous link IIRC) then a trader can get "certains" for you, or a bigger paladin with loads of HP ranks.

Cheers

I don't get it. The weapon bonds do their hand so when they depart they keep the weapon, but the rest of their gear stays? What is the big deal?

I thought Paladins already did?

Barbs take an inner fire hit for fleeing.

Maybe it's minor, or depends on the level of threat, I don't know. But I check everytime I flee from grass eels and still at pristine luminesence.

I know the messaging leads you to believe that there is a soul hit:

FLEE:
PALADIN:

A feeling of emptiness invades your soul.
You feel the wrenching pain of dejection as you pull away south and attempt to flee from battle like a coward!
Choosing dishonor before death, you run away from the battlefield like a gutless cad.

Bond Glyph helps put a weapon in someone's hand so that it is not taken while on the ground or if someone is carrying it, they are not getting a soul hit for a graverobbing mechanic.

I probably use this glyph daily as most people appreciate it when you bond their weapon then drag them someplace to get a raise.

Using it in the field, ok, that lends it purpose. I was like if they are sitting in the Cleric hall dead whats the big deal? Got ya. Speaking of which I need to do that quest.

I always loved Warding's secondary feature of preventing someone from aiming at you. Gave me more use out of the glyph daily. :D

I have yet to have anyone aim at me. Will this work on ranged creatures as well?

I'll need to double check this with Ssra. I thought that was in implemented originally.

So did I. Unless the hits are just too minor to notice until they build up.

There is a bug with it. If you just 'flee', you get a soul hit as intended. If you 'flee <nonexistant direction>' the soul hit is bypassed. Barbarians get an inner fire hit either way.

Pretty sure ranged creatures only use snap shots, but if they do aim it should work on them as well. It also works on those trying to target you, and creatures do target.

Actually, when "FLEE" was released, it was said that we DO take a soul hit for fleeing, but it was the very MINIMUM possible, so one can flee multiple times and not really see a drop in soul state.

A simple "thanks I am ok" would of been a better call on his part.

Since the soul pool is a range, it is possible I was staying within the pristine window.

In regards to the flee aspect, I'll be looking into this.

Protect Deflect is Circle 5 I think?
Protect Cover is Circle 30?
Protect Assess is 50th or 60th, not sure
Protect Self is 80th

I'm guessing on most of those since I was just under 80th when all the protects were released so I got the first 3 immediately.
