Heyo!

Have an idea for a new and improved design for one of the new soulstone amulets being sold at the Guildfest? If so, here's your chance to make it a reality!

From now until Wednesday 5/19 at midnight, I will be accepting ideas for new amulet designs. At least three of these designs will be added to the merchant for the second week of the festival.

Here are the rules:

(1) Submissions must be received by midnight eastern time on Wednesday, 5/19.

(2) The amulets must be made of materials reasonably accessible in Elanthia. No ultra-rare or enchanted materials, please.

(3) Soulstones are large, roughly the size of a woman's fist (whatever that means). Keep this in mind when designing the amulet -- unless you want to be wearing something the size and weight of a brick, it is going to need to be 90% just something to hold the soulstone (with only the stone visible), with very little else.

(4) The description of the setting (or lack of setting) is automatically added by the mechanics that make the amulet work. As a result, you will need to be careful to describe the amulet in such a way that the auto-endings to the description make sense and are not redundant. The automatic endings are...

(empty) -- The setting is empty.

(complete) -- A soulstone rests in the setting, its glossy surface swirling with patterns of black and white.

(5) Entries must conform to all normal Simutronics policy and rules for your instance.

(6) All entries may be edited as needed to fit Simutronics standards, as well as mechanical requirements. I will try to keep this at a minimum, but be aware it can happen.

(7) All entries should include both a TAP description (what you see when you tap the amulet) as well as a LOOK description (what you see when you look at it).

Please e-mail all entries to DR-DARTENIAN@PLAY.NET by the deadline.

I will rope a couple of fellow GMs into judging the entries on Thursday, with the goal of having the winners in the merchant by Friday evening at the very latest.

The top three favorite picks from the judging team will be added for sure, and the creators will get a copy of their amulet with a soulstone in place as a prize.

If we get a lot of good entries, I will very likely rotate others in and out during the rest of the Fest. In this case, the person who created it will be able to purchase their own amulet at a reasonable discount.

Have fun!

Heyo!

One last thing -- please be sure to include the name of the character you want the amulet to go to if you win! It is rather difficult to hand out prizes if I don't know who submitted the entries!

Heyo!

The first round of contest entry amulets are now available from the soulstone merchant at the festival. Several more will be added over the next three or four days. The entries are roughly in the order received. The originals will eventually be rotated out to make room as more entries are added, so be sure to grab them now if you want any of the originals.

Since there was a reasonable number of participants, each person who submitted an entry will see at least one of their entries show up in the merchant before the end of the weekend -- in short, everyone will be treated as a winner. The person who submitted the entry will be able to pick up -one- copy of their amulet from the merchant free of charge using the character they named in their submission!

Thanks for participating!

Heyo!

Several more contest amulets have been added. The person who submitted the amulet should be able to pick up one copy at no charge.

Note: A problem with one contest participant entries has been resolved -- if you were the person who assisted because they could not claim their prize, you should find a copy of your prize-winning amulet in your pack.
