I was unaware of that spell, but it's certainly interesting. Armifer is working on a spell review for Paladins which consists in part of condensing some spells into one, such as merging Courage and Heroic Strength. He gave a few more details about merged spells that I can't locate right now, but he didn't say much of anything else AFAIK.
