Heyo!
I've got a question for you guys, and one that I want you to put a little thought into before you go with your gut reaction. I apologize in advance for the vagueness of the question, but I don't want to give away too much, and any details at all seem to constitute "too much". So....
On a scale of 1 (leave me alone) to 10 (bring it on!), just how much suffering and misery are you guys willing to suffer for a major event, given the assurance that you'll all come out a bit ahead in the long run, and that the long run won't be more than a couple of weeks of misery?
Just curious! O:-)

Note: what's he's not saying is the "long term gain" will be when you all end up joining the clerics guild since you don't have many other options once the paladin guild is closed down.
This will also fix the problems with being an armor prime and needing more spells.

Still a n00b when it comes to being a Paladin, but I've always been firmly of the belief that all men play on 10.

Does this event involve a highly-respected Paladin elder getting angry at the Necromancers running around wildly and deciding that the devotes of the 13 and the citizens of Kermoria perhaps deserve more pro-active protection? Leading to a civil war in the guild and eventually a reclusive leader which will teach the merits of abandoning the tenats of chilvary and honor whilst still upholding the will of the Gods and smiting the wicked? (Yes, I am again asking about dark Paladins. Sorry, it's a sickness and I can't help it.)
If so, 10 10 10 10 10 omfg 10. If not, 9.99999.

Is this prime only or should Plat weigh in as well?

Hee!
Let's just say that some of you are on the right track. In fact, most of you are, although not necessarily spot on. And that's all I'm going to say for now. It sounds like most people want it to be fairly intense, so we'll go that route. I'll start around a 7 or so and start escalating until enough people scream, "Enough!" Sound reasonable?
And just remember...you asked for it!

When you kick this off, could you make something "official" in doing so? Something like a "Paladin Council Meeting" or an Announcement from a guildleader. Or, something to give us a heads up (and allow some of us to work our RP in existing provinces to get to the place where the action is going to take place)?
Thanks, hopefully this request is not a PITA.

Due to its nature, the first few things will be spontaneous out of necessity. However, I will make an effort to have as many "scheduled" events as possible so that everyone can participate.
Yes, as a former Plat Events team guy, I fully intend to bring this to Plat too, and in that particular case I'll probably have to give advance notice more often even if I'd prefer not to since I will need at least one person from each of three guilds available. Preferably two or three, but one each will work.

>>Necros are misunderstood and should be protected.
While I'm sure someone with zero knowledge of DR lore would go this route...
The DR equivalent of a Death Knight (IMO) would be a Paladin who is of the opinion that Chadatru really doesn't give a damn whether or not his Paladin champion waits for the God-defying Necromancer to attack him first (honor!) before he smites the non-believer into a million pieces.
We are the instruments of the gods along with Clerics. If being the shield of the Gods has failed to stop the Necromancer insurrection, perhaps it is time to become the hammer of the Gods.

Actually, Chadatru probably would care, and Rutilor certainly would, unless there was absolutely no question about the nature of the enemy. In short, attacking someone because they have been accused of necromancer would probably not earn you any brownie points with that pair, but if they were caught in the act? That might fly, although we are talking about the gods of justice. They would probably far prefer these miscreants be brought in and given a fair trial (and then righteously smited? Smitten? Smote?) unless they force your hand.
But with that said, you aren't entirely wrong on the overall concept. Just perhaps a bad example... :-D
