<<- Soulstones no longer melt or cause damage to the user if the user has a black soul.
<<- Soulstones are now four times as likely to drop from tortured souls.
Awesome!

>>If halt requires a good soulstate to use, then it makes sense that characters who do not have a good soulstate should not be able to use it without a significant penalty at the very least. I would imagine this includes non-Paladins.
Nah, they said that Halt does not require any type of soulstate to use. I could be running around with the Heretic title and still halt people. I take a soulhit, but even if I have absolute bottomed out Soul, I can still cast it, and apparently every other 1st tier spell.

I actually tried this last night with my Heretic Paladin and he can't cast any spell in his spellbook.

Well, as of right now...
You are Heretic blahblahblah...
>prep halt
Since you're not feeding enough power into the spell pattern to make it coherent, you quickly work your way to the minimum required.
You begin chanting a prayer to invoke the Halt spell.
>cast caelumia
You gesture at Caelumia.
As you are preoccupied by your lack of righteousness and honor, you mangle the spell pattern.

Did you do the stealing thing?
I set my soul to where it killed soulstones (until I changed it) and was able to cast spells but maybe it was because I GM tweaked it.
There's nothing in the spells themselves that says 'no casting with bad soul' so it might be hiding elsewhere in the magic code.

I think she may be referring to getting timed out(logout) due to having to wait so long with no commands to erase that many ranks.
The logout can be got arround by sending either a blank command or a command with a space (can't remember which, maybe both). The command won't reset the timer for forgetting stealing, but will reset the inactivity timer.

I think there's a glitch with the whole repenting thing, or so I've heard. If you get too many ranks, you can't repent. Way I understand it, while repenting, you can't do ANYTHING, IC or OOC verbs/commands ruin the repenting process, so if you have too many ranks, you sit there, trying to do nothing to repent, and you time out. Or, so I've been told.

I think I can live with that.

>I thought the cutoff for that was lower than 10 because you can't do anything while repenting and you'll time out before it finishes?
I had ~60 ranks of stealing when I first tried to join the guild over in Plat, needless to say clearing stealing>10 is possible. I think it was either look or exp that didn't stop the repenting, but it's well possible to fully repent with high ranks of stealing. It does take quite a bit of time, however.
