Several unsightly notches and dings mar the front of the shield, contrasting with a flawlessly smooth brass boss set with smaller brass studs. Plies of oak and leather are bound to the shield's interior, along with an aged leather armguard secured with tiny silver studs. The image of a tiny regal lion is scorched into the bottom left corner of the interior. Scrawled haphazardly into the inside bend of the shield is, "The enemy is anyone who's going to get you killed, no matter which side they're on."
