Forgive my ignorance on the nuances of shields; At 200 ranks, for a non-Paladin, is the jousting shield from the Gnome Quest still better than pretty much all other shields, excluding other rare / quest ones? I'm under the impression that as your shield skill goes up, your ability to use a larger shield more effectively increases, so I'm wondering if something like the tower shield from Theren would be a better bet at this point...

I've had this massive black imperial shield since the first fest that I love, but hardly use since its not slingable. Which makes travel and certain situations more difficult. Also though its bonded to the owner, I am not sure how long the bond holds and I always worry when I have to drop it during skinning or when using my first fest bastard sword two handed that I'll disco and someone will be able to snag it. I wonder how well the shield rates vs the jousting shields. I've not kept up on such things and really am quite rusty on all aspects of DR anymore.
