ReplyCurrently, there are many known factions for the races. There has been much discussion about being able to add qualifiers to race or even changing race name. Examples would be "Mountain Elf" and "Bone Elf" or changing "Kaldar" to "Gorbesh."
I feel this system would help support further roleplay and interraction and help create a more immersive atmosphere.
To show support for further race description, I am going to start a poll in the form of a counter. Please respond and increment it where you show support (IE add 1 to total).
If you want to add a faction, add it to the bottom and put a 1 next to it(for yourself). Comments can be placed above the totals.
Support System 1
Mountain Elf 1
Gorbesh 1
For example, given the above, say you supported the system and favor the L'Karm and Mountain Elves. You would respond:
Support system 2
Mountain Elf 2
Gorbesh 1
L'Karm 1
Clear as mud?
This sounds a bit overly complicated.
Unless there are resource limitations, all "sub races" should be included, regardless of if anyone would be currently taking advantage of them.
That said, I like the idea of better definitions of who is what. Swapping char-gen for Kaldar over to something that covers both Kaldar and Gorbesh, and then letting a player decide to wear whichever as their racial identifier would be awesome in my book.

I'd also really like to see a similar one-time choice for character age, for those who didn't ever get the opportunity to set their own character's age/birthday. Range restrictions based on race would apply, of course, but I think it's crazy silly that choosing to set a character's age and/or birthday is based on premium/platinum status, personally.

This, but for every race since they pretty much all have these subdivisions -- of the Mountain Elves, of Shark Clan, of Sraan Mhhg, etc. with registration-type mechanics like the Eloths have in places that make sense for the race.

The only reason I don't really support the affiliation title thing is that I'd prefer people being able to do something like:
You see Friar Thimbleswitch Knucklebiter, Priest of Faenella, a River Elven Cleric.
I like people being able to show affiliation with the locksmith union or the militias or whatever, in addition to being able to have their subrace show through, not either/or. For myself personally it doesn't matter, since Olvi, as far as I can readily tell, don't necessarily have distinct racial subtypes anyway. Might be nice to be able to choose Olvi instead of Halfling though.
BTW, bonus awesome points to the first person to make a character named Thimbleswitch Knucklebiter.

I like the idea. Though as a player of an Eloth raised by Dwarves, I always wished I had some way of showing her affiliation with the Rose Clan maidens. And the fact that she should know Haakish. Anyways...
As a Gnome as well, it would be nice to affiliate with the different Gnomish clans.
It would be neat if there were certain titles or affiliations that could become available for the different racial clans or racial groups.
