Now I know a number of players had very strong feelings against new races of any kind back in the DR2 topic, I don't mean to wade into that again. But I do recall there was some GM activity on the topic at least as recently as 2004 although it appears to have been all but drowned out by some wannabe player half-elf nonsense:
