Anyone know of any books about the Gnomish gods? I've always heard Gnomes followed either the Alaudian gods or the 13, but both Tending the Fold and the recent Prayer Bead update reference Gnome specific gods and I don't recall any prior mention of them.

To my knowledge, there are no new Gnomish gods. The gnomish religious history goes something like this:

1)before the Luethrans, gnomes had their own pantheon of Gods. For some reason, gnomes stopped worshipping them and they all disappeared forever into the mists of ancient history.

2)Luethrans rose to power and "conquered" the gnomes. I don't think it was a violent thing, as the gnomes took to the Luethrans like the second coming of their gods and so began to fervently worship the Luethrans as god-figures.

3)Luethrans inexplicably disappeared, eventually replaced by Gorbesh (the Alaudians) and Ocular (no gods, or at least none specified in detail enough to even name).

4)due to political differences, some gnomish clans and kaldar tribes left Albaria and the Gorbesh Empire and ultimately ended up on Kermoria. Some settled down and wholly renounced their ties to the empire, and began to worship the Thirteen and other local lesser deities. Others felt torn between the two sides and left because of more worldly concerns (ie, the Gorbesh were too militaristic or prejudiced). In large part, those gnomes who agreed with the Gorbesh stayed put.

There's a library book or two you can find in-game about this, which is also found on Elanthipedia (http://www.elanthipedia.com/wiki/Book:MarRGS). There may be more info somewhere, but it's not as robust as that book.

"1)before the Luethrans, ..."

Am I the only one who keeps reading that as Lutherans?

(And immediately thinks of Garrison Keillor talking about fifty Lutheran ministers in the pontoon boat...)

The gnomish worship of the 13 came about before the Kaldar migration. As such, there are still gnomes in the Gorbesh Empire who worship the 13. From the book _Religion in Gorbesh Society_:

"While the Gnomes may have once held a unique religion of their own, that is now long lost. For instance, the Cip'uja once worshipped the Luethra as gods. A large portion of Gnomic society holds to the same religious beliefs as the rest of the Gorbesh Empire, particularly divisions such as the Iyqaromos. Since the Gnomes, living in Albaria, did not have absolute isolation from Kermoria, many Gnomes picked up the religion of the Thirteen Immortals, and now worship those -- the Cip'uja, always more reluctant members of the Empire, have been a long time in accepting the Imperial religion and have been quicker to pick up the teachings of the 39. Gnomes once had a pantheon of their own, but later many switched to the Alaudian gods or the 13, so you are correct. However, Gnomes are slowly starting to return to their own roots and revisit the faith of their ancestors.

There is not currently any in-game information on these gods, I'm afraid. We'll be revisiting these "new" old gods soon, however.

Don't suppose Gizzbolf is going to be a god of death, is he? The world needs a Gnomish god of slaughter with a blood drenched bunny for a symbol.

I thought the Gnome tree on the Island of Reshalia had a book about the Gnome Gods.
